I highly recommend Taka's tour. We had a terrific day. We chatted along the way about Japanese culture as we were professionally escorted through the city.
We visited beautiful sights, and were taken through gates and background parts at shrines etc that we would never have found ourselves.
Taka is warm and friendly, and was happy to go at our pace, and to personalise our tour

We had a great time with Taka! He picked us up at our hotel on time and took us on an adventure. After 13 days of shrines and temples, we really wanted to do something fun. Taka took us to Akihabara for anime fun! My sister is a huge DragonSlayer fan so she was able to find a Nezuko t-shirt. We stopped over at the Harajuku Harry Potter store for some merch you can only buy in that store. Taka also took us to an incredible Ramen place that had one of the best Vegan ramen’s I had ever tasted! It had a rich broth made with soy and chili oil and even had soy meat. Incredible! Also, Taka is a train wiz. We didn’t want to purchase the train card, opting to purchase tickets as we go. While it can be a bit of an extra chore, Taka knows the transportation system extremely well. It’s like he had memorized all prices for wherever you wanted to go and could navigate you there. Some how, even with the busy Japan morning commute, we ended up on a train that was barely packed. If you want to get around Japan seamlessly, trust me, Taka is your guy!
Taka was wonderful at sharing his love and knowledge of Tokyo. He made great recommendations for the tour and for our remaining time in Tokyo
We had a great time exploring Tokyo with Mami! She was knowledgeable, navigated the train system efficiently, and brought us to local spots to buy snacks that we might not have discovered on our own. She also contacted us beforehand to discuss our itinerary. Highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to explore Tokyo beyond the usual tourist spots!
Great way to have introduction to getting around using public transport. Itinerary was customised to our selection of sights to see. Mami was great. Contacted us in advance of our tour and couldn’t be more helpful. Even after the tour had ended. It was a pleasure to meet you Mami. Thank you.
It was me, my girlfriend, and a couple friends first time in Japan. Of course we planned a couple of things and knew of a few spots to hit, but we honestly didn't plan that much. So what do we do? where should we go? what are lesser known spots? What better way to figure all of this out than a personal guide for the day who can just answer our questions as well go. It was quite literally a last minute booking, but luckily Satoshi fit us in. 0 plans, just meet up with him and wing it as we go. We saw all sorts of cool things, went to cool places, ate unique foods, and talked about everything under the sun. Not only creating a friendship, but helping to tailor our day together based on what we liked or were into. I recommend doing this so much, that even when we were there, we set plans and booked him again for another day to do the same exploration type day, but in the Fuji area. Satoshi is a great guy, who creates great excursions, and I hope to see him again.

The tour with Taka was absolutely wonderful! We enjoyed a full day of sightseeing and a delicious lunch. Taka is knowledgeable and welcoming! We learned about the history of various sites and the culture. He even helped with translating when we passed by a store I had been looking for. It felt like we were spending an afternoon with an old friend. We also appreciated that he is actually Japanese and from Tokyo, but his English is also very good. We did the 8-hr tour and were completely exhausted after, but it was worth every minute. Highly recommend!
Mami gave us a one of a kind personalized tour. We hit all the standard highlights (imperial palace, red bell temple, etc), but took detours to see the unique tokyo highlights that would interest our group (e.g., where to buy a vintage discman). She even helped us with our bullet-train tickets for the next day.
Me and my friend had a blast with our guide Mami! She was super helpful and knowledgeable and we had heaps of fun. Her English was perfect which helped a lot as well! She was also the guide for Tracey McGrady, she’ll be able to share some stories and pictures if you’re interested!

Wonderful day with Sumire! Our lovely guide was promptly waiting for us in the lobby of our hotel, and she tailored the tour to our family requests. She spoke English perfectly and taught us so much during our 4 hour tour.
Taka was a great tour guide. Very friendly and has a great knowledge and enthusiasm for his city. We did this tour on our first full day and it was a great way to get our bearings and Taka helped us get our Suica cards showed us how to use the subway system.
He contacted us before the tour to find out our interests so that he could personalize it. As well as it being an extremely interesting day he gave us lots of tips and recommendations. There were also some great surprises - but I don't want to spoil it for future tourists! He also has a great knowledge of Kabuki as he comes from a family that have performed for many years, very interesting as it is something we didn't know much about

We had an awesome and fun time with Mami. She asked us what we would be interested in seeing and doing the day before the tour. On the day she picked us up from our hotel and guided us on a fun tour of several cultural areas and attractions that we wanted to see. Mami is very knowledgeable about various Tokyo sites and Japanese culture. She showed us some really fun places, restaurants, and stands that we wouldn’t have encountered on our own.
She is fun and energetic and really wants to provide an interesting and engaging tour. We had a lot of questions about everyday life in Japan and also about Japanese culture and she was very informative and open about Japan.
Even after the tour, she was so kind to send me places of interest that I wouldn’t have remembered to visit. And she also told me several times that I could contact her if I had any questions or wanted more recommendations.
We booked a guide for our first day in Tokyo. Mami helped us understand the train system and provided excellent suggestions on things to do in Tokyo and other cities we are visiting in Japan.

I would happily recommend this walking tour. I booked the four-hour tour for myself on the first day that I arrived in Japan, while others I was spending the holiday with not arriving until the evening. Taka was a wonderful tour guide and helped me to forget my jet lag by giving such an engaging insight into Tokyo.
Ahead of the tour, Taka got in touch to relay all the details and confirm that he would meet at my hotel, which was really helpful. At the start of the tour, we had a chat about my interests and the sorts of things that I would like to see, and he adapted the tour around that - making it bespoke certainly helped make it feel even more worthwhile. As part of the trip to the Meiji Shrine, Taka was able to seamlessly weave in details of the history and culture of the place, with his own experiences, giving me a much greater understanding of both the shrine and the wider context in Tokyo culture. He gave me a tour down Takeshita Street, before showing me Ginza, which included a hidden view of the Tokyo skyline from above, and a history of Kabuki theatre. Akihabara was another place that I wanted to see, and he did a great job of showing me around some of the places he had spent time over the years and recommended.
Throughout all of the tour, Taka was engaging and informative. Additionally, he helped me to understand how to navigate around the metro (including what the mega stations with lots of walking were!), he took photos to help me remember various sights, and gave some good recommendations on places to eat (that were not touristy), both in Tokyo and in the other cities that I would be visiting in Japan.
As a solo traveller, the tour helped me not to waste the first day wandering around like a zombie, but actually make the most of seeing lots of parts of the wonderful city that is Tokyo. Taka is a great tour guide, and this is definitely a really worthwhile experience for anyone travelling to Tokyo wanting to know more about the city.
Come hungry! Lots of food - all delicious! Enjoyed walking through various areas between restaurants, with our guide telling us information along the way.
What an incredible experience? Our guide was so considerate and helpful with all of our needs, including mobility issues and helping us navigate all of the subway and train system of Tokyo. It was such a beautiful experience and a beautiful place. We are so thankful that we chose this tour.If you choose this tour, you can't go wrong.
Takanari runs a very thorough tour of Tokyo. We covered every area and attraction that locals frequent, which kept costs down while exposing us to common activities such as shopping for anime collectables and cards, and visiting shrines and gardens. We only had one day to visit so we obviously covered Shibuya Crossing and a few other areas that seemed to have large numbers of tourists. If I had a second day I’d tell him money is not an object, take us to the expensive elaborate gardens and up the coolest towers and buildings.
Taka was an awesome Guide. He knows Tokyo like the back of his hand. We visited Shibuya crossing, Meiji temple and Tekeshita Street and Taka took some beautiful pictures along the way. He helped us make dinner plans and even agreed to join us for dinner which was awesome. I highly recommend a tour with Taka, it saves time and you get to see the hidden gems which are only known by locals.
