Lots of Wildlife
The whales were out! The boat was great about getting to the spot where the whales were congregating. We were lucky to be in between 2 different pods 7 whales total. The captain then took us to a picturesque lighthouse where the base was covered with gigantic seals. It would have been nice to stick around the surfacing orcas and humpback whales. But it was a nice change.

Exciting water thrill ride with some whales peeks
The ride on the zodiac is pretty exhilarating. It is bumpy and you could get pretty wet (though not soaked, so wallet and phone should be ok).
The whale watching is so-so since you are pretty close to the surface of the water. But we did see some whales from a distance.

Impeccable Views
As a surprise and rather spur of the moment purchase, I got tickets during a trip to Victoria BC for my boyfriend's birthday, after we got off the Clipper. Neither of us had been in a smaller plane before and the photos looked really gorgeous online. It was extremely smooth buying the tickets, arriving and being checked in, and getting into the plane itself. Although both of us are slender, I'm a little curvy, the seats were extremely small. The seat belt and the floating device were almost painfully tight to put on, and the seat itself was quite tiny. Of course, we fully anticipated this, but if you're a female presenting person with full hips, know it may be a little uncomfortable. The plane was also prepared with ear plugs, should the noise level get too high.
The views were absolutely impeccable and stunning. Would highly recommend if you have a little spending money to take the time and do the tour! Thank you to the pilot and staff for making an amazing experience for us.

Amazing day!
We had an amazing outing with Sam, Hana and Captain Jeremy! We saw a humpback and a pod of orcas - one of the orcas breached twice, which was absolutely breathtaking! The crew took great care of us and made sure we were warm with jackets, pants, hats and gloves. We would absolutely recommend!

I want to see Orcas.... Check!!
Great experience!! My goal was to see Orcas, we accomplished that within the first 45 minutes of the tour. We were able to follow a pod of 5 orcas for about 20 minutes. Our naturalist on board was Liam, he cracked me up. He answered all of our questions, no matter how dumb, and gave us really great information about all the different types of animals and fish we may see. We also saw a humpback whale, harbor seals with a baby, and an elephant seal. Once we saw the orcas, to me, everything else was gravy. They also provide you with professional pictures taken by their staff on your tour at no additional charge!!!! This is great customer service, it let us focus on seeing things with our eyes instead of through a stupid cell phone camera.

Amazing!!!
We had some rough seas that made our ride a little wild but our guide did a great job navigating. He was regularly checking in with passengers and did a great job telling us about what we saw. No or a sightings unfortunately but it was the ride of a lifetime.

Local approved!
The guide, Tyco, was friendly and accommodating. The wineries were beautiful and welcoming, the wines diverse and intriguing, the packed, tiffin tin lunch delicious. We didn’t feel rushed at all, and yet we covered a lot of ground. A truly enjoyable day, even for a local ;)

Enjoyable hike
Beautiful walk, not difficult. Our guide, Alan, was informative about the trees, history of the area and its indigenous people and how they used the bark of the trees. He was incredibly helpful to me, navigating parts of the path more difficult for me ( mobility issues), lending a hand and arm. He was a very nice man.

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Picturesque Victoria overlooks the Salish Sea, which comes to life from May to October with orcas, humpback whales, and minke whales. For whale watching in Victoria, make your way to the historic harbor, which is backed by the BC Parliament Buildings and the chateau-style Fairmont Empress. Tours depart at all hours of the day. Booking a boat tour is your best chance to spot these majestic mammals, whether you’re looking for the calm of a sunset cruise, or the excitement of a speeding Zodiac.
