Reaching a real Douro wine estate without a car is harder than it looks. The quintas sit across steep terraces several kilometres from Pinhão, on roads with no buses and nowhere to walk. This experience solves that: we collect you at Pinhão station, take you to Quinta da Levandeira do Roncão, and bring you back. The Levandeira is a working family estate in the heart of the Alto Douro — a small property where wine is still made, not a visitor centre. You see the estate and its setting above the valley, then sit down in the tasting room. The tasting is a vertical of three Ports: a White, a 10 Year Old Tawny and a Late Bottled Vintage, served with a board of regional cheese, cured meats and bread from the Douro and Trás-os-Montes. Your host knows the estate and the wines, and there is no script and no queue behind you. One departure a day, at 11am, with a maximum of four guests. Unforgettable Douro Day!

Don’t miss booking this! Andreia and her husband own this business and made the day so special. We were picked up at our hotel, The Vintage House and driven to sites with 2 other lovely couples to see and experience, 2 small Quinta wineries with tastings, 2 incredible lookout view points, a fabulous Portuguese family style lunch and an hour rabella boat ride on the Douro. Every stop showed appreciation that we were there. It was a very welcoming day with so much knowledge and history shared by Andreia throughout our tour. Thank you again Andrea! An unforgettable day-trip to Douro Valley

Paolo was an absolutely phenomenal tour guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable on all things Porto and the Douro Valley. We had gotten so lucky with the weather and the day tour was thoughtfully planned and gorgeous. Paolo let us take as much time as we wanted at each stop and was a joy to have in our group. Two members didn't get a chance to eat breakfast, and he stopped in a small town to talk us through some small bites to get and still made sure we were on schedule for the other items listed below. Stops: 1. Vineyard for first tasting. Viere de Sousa - incredibly accommodating. My partner and I just got engaged and they were kind enough to give us a special pour (each of our 6 person group), their 40 year old tawny port to celebrate. Bought a few to bring home. 2. Pecheca vineyard for second tasting and three course lunch. Lunch was very well done and had some of the most beautiful grounds. 3. The Vintage House Hotel - boat tour down Douro Valley. Stunning 4. Visit to Pinhao train station 5. Drive back to Porto Paolo stayed with us for over about 12 hours today. Would do it again tomorrow if we could!

Best Douro Valley Boat Ride and Lunch

Everything about this experience was beyond our expectations. We were greeted immediately by our Captain Carlos to check us in and make sure we were in the right spot for Deltatur boat ride. I would 100% recommend this trip but you have to add the lunch. Lunch was spectacular!! Traditionally delicious and portions were huge. A meal at try is the lamb and cod. Ask for half portions so you could share and experience the goodness of all the traditional foods. Ask for Telmo as a guide, he was so helpful and interesting. Thank you for a great trip.

Beautiful Afternoon in the Douro: Ride & Vineyard

A beautiful boat ride on the Douro was the highlight of this experience. Absolutely five star. Kalil, our boat tour guide was knowledgeable and charming. The Crofts vineyard is beautiful and the port wines were spectacular; at Crofts, I did have the impression that there were different levels of tour (food, tables with nice view under vineyards vs inside with no view) and that we did not choose the best level. We still had a great experience, but might have chosen to upgrade had we understood the options better. The three hour tour was a very good use of time for us and gave us quite a comprehensive experience of the area in a short time. Thank you so much for a beautiful afternoon!

Exciting way to see Douro from many angles.

This was probably the best day we had in Portugal! The off roading on narrow old streets was super fun, the scenery was gorgeous. We learned a lot about Douro, the wine, and even about Portugal itself. We tasted many wines and had delicious food. Our guide, Vasco was wonderful. Highly recommend this tour.
