This is an exciting and interesting shore excursion starting and ending in the port of Walvis Bay. We explore Walvis Bay town and visit the famous wetlands south of Walvis Bay which teams with thousands of flamingos and numerous other shore and seabirds. Afterwards we visit some of the highest dunes in this coastal area. We continue into the Namib Desert and marvel at the so called "moonscape", a rugged and rocky scenery reminding us of the surface of the moon. Our next destination is an oasis in the Swakop Canyon, a former farm which has now been turned into a pleasant resort with a restaurant in the middle of the "Moonscape". Afterwards we return to the coast and visit the historical town of Swakopmund which was founded in 1892 by the German Colonial Reich.
