Itineraries for Your Trip to Marbella
3 Days in Marbella for First Timers
The first time I visited Marbella, I was captivated by its sprawling sandy beaches, the charm of the historic Old Town, and the natural wonders that lie just beyond the coast, such as the towering hills of the Sierra Blanca Mountains. I cruised the hills each morning by bike, spent the afternoons lounging in the Mediterranean’s soft waves, and ate tapas or watched live flamenco in the evening, which made for the perfect, well-rounded vacation. Additionally, Marbella’s year-round, near-perfect weather means I can visit at any time and still have plenty to do and see. Here’s what to do on your first trip if you have three days in Marbella, Spain.
It’s usually sunny and hot in Marbella, especially during the spring and summer months.
If you only have time for one thing, make it a bike adventure, which could lead through the Sierra Blanca Mountains, Marbella’s historic Old Town, or the White Villages that run along the Costa del Sol.

Day 1 Start by exploring the quaint, winding streets of Marbella’s Old Town, stopping in the Plaza de los Naranjos, home to beautiful fountains and flowers; the Marbella Castle, which lies partly in ruins; and the tropical Alameda Park, which sits just a few blocks off the beach.
Then, continue your walking tour down to Playa del Venus, one of Marbella’s city beaches, home to beach clubs, restaurants, and bars. For a different perspective, consider taking a boat trip to gaze at Marbella’s stunning coastline and maybe even spot dolphins.
There are many ways to experience Marbella’s clear waters beyond swimming. Consider a kayaking tour or Jet Ski rental, during which you can catch sight of fish and ride the waves.
Having a good time just staying in Marbella is easy, but taking a day trip to the outskirts is also an excellent way to enjoy the Costa del Sol. Daredevils should head to the Caminito del Rey, an extremely steep hiking path that runs along a gorge, while less adventurous travelers can visit Malaga for shopping and dining.
Head back to Marbella in the evening to enjoy a nightclub in Puerto Banus or an alfresco flamenco show beneath the stars.
