What are people saying about Zanzibar

Wonderful walking tour for the whole family!
The tour was wonderful and exaxtly what we were looking for with a froup ranging in age from six to seventy! A very large thank-you to Imran for his excellent guiding abilities and his patience with our very active six-year old! He was exactly the tour guide we wanted and needed. We learned so much about the people, history and culture. He worked with our pace and let us stop as needed. It was a great experience and we fully recommend it to everyone. Also, ask for Imran- you wont be disappointed!

Just book it!
Just do it! This was one of the best day trips we have ever done! We went with captain barnaba tours and the crew were absolutely fantastic. We saw so many dolphins and got to swim with them ethically. The crew didn’t chase the dolphins, instead they stopped the boat ahead of the path the dolphins were swimming which made the experience that much more enjoyable. The crystal waters were something of paradise and we had never seen this many fish during snorkelling. Don’t even think about it just book it!!!

All encompassing tour
Led by an experienced guide, with a separate driver for ease in stone town, we travelled from my hotel in the far north east to the three stops. The spice farm was rustic, with a walk through the grounds picking out the plants growing for their aromatics. Stone town, in its chaos, is beautiful, but many of the attractions are undergoing renovation. However, walking through the city gives a great flavour of the islands culture and history. Prison island, other than being a small zoo for a few animals, doesn’t very well showcase its own history, but the guide explained the complex changing of hands the island has experienced. It’s rare I’d commend a driver in Zanzibar, but we had a safe (and courteous) driver who kept us safe when the skies opened up. Fantastic day.

I'll start with that I rarely give 5 stars, normally I give 4 stars as a max so that should be an indicator as to how much I liked this. My guide was Nassor. He did a fantastic job. He had deep knowledge of the area and knew the history like a true expert. I felt safe with him both as a person and that he was keeping me safe (from traffic and motorcycles more than anything). At the end he even asked for feedback so he could improve which shows that he trying to get better even though he's already so good and has been at it for years which I feel is a sign of good character. I also had a walking tour combined with another tour I did but this one was much better. If you are looking for a walking tour, this is one of the best options out there in my opinion.

While Tanzania’s sweeping Serengeti plains and towering Mount Kilimanjaro get a lot of attention, you don’t want to miss the country’s tropical islands. Zanzibar tours acquaint you with the multicultural influences and intricate carved doors of Stone Town, the main island’s old trading hub that’s still full of antique shops and bazaars. The archipelago’s smaller islands are ideal for snorkeling among dolphins and spotting giant Aldabra tortoises, while the countryside is home to spice farms and indigenous Swahili culture. If you’re up for a short flight, many Zanzibar tours go to mainland Tanzania for safaris.
