Our experience with Beach & Safari was absolutely beyond description from start to finish. Everything was perfectly organized — starting with the punctual pickup and warm welcome from the driver, all the way to the end of the trip.
I want to sincerely thank the entire team; everyone was professional, respectful, and made the experience smooth and enjoyable.
A special thanks to our driver Juma — truly one of the best drivers I’ve ever had. The journey with him was incredibly enjoyable, and he made us feel safe and comfortable the whole time.
As for the safari itself, it was amazing! We got to see the Big Four — an unforgettable experience.

Amazing experience, wish we had booked privately for the jeep also considered staying for 2 days. Our group had the most incredible time at the Selous Game Reserve! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized — the logistics were seamless, and every detail was thoughtfully planned. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five, which was absolutely breathtaking. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the wildlife and conservation, making the experience even more special.
The scenery was stunning, the transportation accommodations comfortable, and the entire trip felt effortless thanks to how well everything was coordinated. My partner and I booked this as an excursion during our Zanzibar holiday, communication from the point of booking - collection was good and the process clear.
We were picked up at 4am by the driver with another couple already on board. We were driven to the airport (not the main international airport) and waited in a café area with many other people, there are lots of tables and chairs so seating was not a problem.
After a short time we were taken to the check in of the airport, we checked in and went through security, this took around 10 mins, we then went into the waiting area for our flight to be called, there are seats, toilets and a small snack stall in this area.
When our flight was called we were walked out to our plane, this was a small but comfortable plane, the journey took around 30mins and we landed in the airstrip of the national park (I saw 3 Giraffe before we even landed).
Once we disembarked the plane there were many guides with lists of people, we found our driver (Charles or King Charles as we called him) and we met the other people in our group, there was 7 of us in total on the jeep.
The Jeep was very very comfy which is exactly what you need when you are sitting for long periods of time.
Charles was very informative, friendly and we couldn't have asked for a better group or driver!
Driving around we got to see many many animals Such as Giraffe, Lions, Elephants, Hippo, Zebra, Hyena, Warthog, Buffalo, Kudu, Baboons, Smaller monkeys and different species of Birds. We were reminded that there is no guarantee to see these animals as they roam free, so I felt we were very lucky.
There was only 1 part I felt uncomfortable with, spotting the rarer animals is a big thing and all the drivers keep in touch over radios so when the animal is spotted other cars can also go there, this part is fine and I think a great idea, however on 2 occasions (Lion & Elephant) we were off to the side out of the way of the animals but the other cars ended up almost circling the animal, you could see the lion for example looked worried and the elephant cowered when a vehicles engine started, the only thing I would ask the company to look at is this process, I think if the cars were lined up or stayed back until another car left this would be less stressful on those animals, however as I said above I do understand why they do this, as it is to get the best experience for those attending, but it made me feel uncomfortable.
we stopped by the watering hole for some tea and coffee with little snacks and then continued with the ride.
later on we had lunch in an area which has toilets, lunch was in an area with a roof but no sides and was very very tasty. unfortunately the heavens opened during this time but the quick thinking drivers moved their jeeps to block the rain around the sides.
after lunch we continued the drive on the look out for different animals and then we were taken back to the airstrip for our flight home.
Charles was a great guide and the day was truly memorable. the we arrived at the Airstrip at 7am and were taken back around 4pm. Well worth the money for such a great experience!

The organisers were slow to send tickets. It’s an early start, picked up around 4am, they sent tickets the night before at 11pm, leaving me worried if they were sending information or not, after 3 chases they had then sent.
The safari itself was a lovely day! its very cold in the morning of the safari, in the second half from 12 onwards it gets very hot.
The plane on the way there was completely fine as it’s cool, however, leaving the safari was unbearable as the plane had little AC, not well circulating.

Amazing day out at the safari! It was extremely well organised..everything went according to plan. They messaged us the day before confirming the pick up time and what to bring. Pick up was exactly at 4am. The flight to the national park was only 30mins, then we met our guide Mahmoud and his trainee. His knowledge of the area and animals was good. He found all the main animals (including lions) for us to see, and provided us with coffee/tea and snacks, and then later on a delicious lunch. We flew back around 4.30pm and were dropped off at our hotel around 7pm. Overall it was an amazing day and I highly recommend this tour company!

Don't overthink it book it!
We were staying in Kizimkazi Zanzibar and were unsure whether to go to Selous (now known as Nyerere National Park) or not on a 1 day Safari, mostly because of the associated cost. Oh my gosh I'm so glad we decided to push the boat out. One of the best days of our lives. Beach & Safari Aviation were Outstanding! Communication was safe and timely. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company and the trip! We saw lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, water hogs, impala, hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, loads of birds, elephants and more.
Be prepared for a 'Safari massage' it's bumpy out there.
We were picked up from our hotel (The Residence) and taken to the airport and dropped back after. Just a note to the company... On the way back we shared a drop off. After a long exhausting day it would have been beneficial for the customer experience to have separate drop offs.
The day is a full one. Around 4am to 7pm.
Wouldn't change it for the world, was an unforgettable, unmatched experience :)

We all agreed this was the best day of our holiday. We didn’t know what to expect because it was only a day safari, but right from the start we saw giraffes, zebras, monkeys, elephants, hippos, impala and even a pair of lions. We were in an open sided jeep that sat six people so we all had a good view and our driver was brilliant at positioning the jeep so we could see the animals and Fabien, our guide, was lovely and very knowledgeable. To be honest it would have been a lovely day just looking at the scenery even if we hadn’t seen so many animals.

Thank you for the experience. However I need to mention the flight going and coming. There was no AC on the flight which is very dangerous. People can suffer a heat stroke if this is not addressed. That was totally unacceptable.

I can highly recommend this Selous Safari and the Beach & Safari Holidays company for the following reasons:
1) There was actually a problem with the included transportation, and I ended up arriving late to the airport for departure. However, the true nature of an individual or company shows during a challenge, and I can say that Agent Jonathan and the Beach and Safari company proved to be people of their word and were willing to do all that was needed to make sure that I did not miss the safari with minimal effect on the other attendees. Excellent and professional overall customer service;
2) The safari at the Selous National Park was outstanding. I ended up in a group of a total of six people, and Mahmoud was our guide. Mahmoud was smart, attentive, and funny. He informed us with information about the animals we saw, and he and the other guides did all they could to make sure we saw many animals as possible, including that we got to see the "big five" animals in the Park. Mahmoud prepared and provided us with a lovely coffee/breakfast break which was helpful as you have to leave early in the morning, and then a lovely lunch, all meals in a lovely picnic presentation. Then when we flew back to Zanzibar, our agent was there with information and arrangements made for transportation back to our hotels; and
3) If you have limited time in Zanzibar and are debating on whether doing a safari is feasible, this is the perfect solution. The flight to the reserve is approximately 30 minutes each way, and while you leave early in the morning, you return at a reasonable hour, so you will have plenty of time to relax and reflect on a great day before finishing your day. The day is enjoyable. Just be prepared to enjoy the ride, be patient and appreciate the beautiful scenery and animals, and enjoy the time with your fellow travelers. Highly recommend.

Had so much fun with my guides who showed me various animals. Not all are guaranteed to spot but they did a great job looking and driving close so we can take pictures. They also explained a lot about the animals. The flight was short and safe. Everything went well.

The day started with a pick up time from our hotel at 4am. We got taken straight to the air port. Our driver was on time and all communication prior to the trip was fantastic.
The flight is 30 minutes and you will land at the game reserve and met by your safari guid and driver for the day.
Our guide Barrack was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. The driver was great.
The safari was great and we got to see lots of animals including elephants.
You won't see lions during the rainy season and the best time to see them will be in in June and July.
The lunch was lovely. We had chicken, rice and beans.
We also stopped off at 10am overlooking hippos whilst drinking coffee.

This was my first Safari and it was Everything I imagined it to be. My guide Mathis was the Best. He was professional, knowledgeable and the Best Dan driver I ever seen. It was a very rainy day and it did not shy away from driving us through every inch water, mud, impossible roads to make sure we could witness the Big 5 and find every animal there was to see. The lunch picnic in the bush was extremely good I thought maybe a bag lunch it was a hot meal prepared by an excellent cook on a picnic table with fruit and plates. Thank you Mathis.
