Top Xian Sightseeing Tours in 2026

This private day tour starts with unhurried time at the Terracotta Warriors, timed to the museum's opening -- the quietest window of the day, before the tour buses arrive. Your guide walks you through Pits 1, 2 and 3 at your own pace. By early afternoon you're back in the city and you choose how to spend the rest of the day. Option A: Yuanjia Village Food City, where 100+ Shaanxi snacks are made by hand in front of you, then a hands-on panniu (frog-button) knot-tying lesson with our partner craftsperson at Datang Xishi, and a walk through one of Xi'an's oldest local markets at the foot of the city wall. Option B: a real Chinese e-bike -- not a pedal bike, not laps on top of the City Wall -- through the old city's backstreets with your guide beside you: the Bell Tower, street food in Huifang, Guangren Temple at dusk, and Jianguomen Old Market in neon. Fully private, and because it's private the start time flexes around you.

Most tours only show you the Terracotta Warriors. This one lets you make one. In a hands-on workshop, you'll sculpt your own clay figurine — a real connection to Qin Dynasty craftsmanship, and a souvenir no photo can replace. You'll also witness two of China's greatest live shows: the Legend of the Camel Bells, with its massive revolving stage bringing the Silk Road to life, and the Song of Everlasting Sorrow, an open-air Tang Dynasty love story set against Huaqing Palace and Mount Li. Beyond the guidebook, you'll explore the South Gate Morning Market — tasting street food, hearing vendors call out, feeling the city wake up. At the Stele Forest, you'll see 2,000-year-old calligraphy carved in stone. In the Muslim Quarter, you'll savor flavors perfected over generations. Travel with a private guide and driver. No rushing, no crowds, no shopping stops, no hidden costs. This is Xi'an as a living city, not a museum. Walk with emperors. Create with your hands. Live like a local.

This is not a sightseeing tour. This is a week of living Xi’an. Wake up at the city‘s most authentic morning market, where locals shop for fresh produce and steaming breakfast. Learn the graceful moves of square dancing in a public park — just like the locals do every morning. Feel the pulse of traditional Chinese medicine through pulse diagnosis, healing tea, and cupping therapy — all guided by a licensed TCM practitioner. Get your hands on history: shape your own Terracotta Warrior figurine, craft a traditional sachet, try paper-cutting, and beat the earth to build a loess wall. Walk the ancient city wall at sunset, dress in Tang costume beneath the lantern-lit streets, and taste street food that has been perfected over generations. This is Xi’an not as a museum — but as a city that lives, breathes, and welcomes you into its rhythm. From morning markets to square dancing, from TCM pulse diagnosis to shaping your own warrior — this is Xi‘an not as a tourist, but as a temporary local.
