Great experience!
My husband and I took the bus tour from Galway out to Connemara National Park and back. There were stops in a few small towns along the way and a two-hour period of time when we were able to explore the park on our own. While in the van, our guide was Kenny, who was an excellent guide. He was welcoming of all the guests in the van, had a great improvisational style, was hilarious and was very well-informed. I highly recommend this trip, especially with Kenny as the guide!

Connemara is one of the most picturesque places in Ireland. You can't miss the gothic church if you visit Kylemore Abbey. They have great food as well.

A trip into the wild
We enjoyed our tour with our driver and guide Michael who wasn’t just knowledgeable, but also entertaining. Great insights into the Irish and Connemara culture. Unfortunately, climbing Diamond Hill was hampered by rainy weather, but the National Park was lovely even in the wet and it was great to see Connemara ponies. We’ll have to come back for a guided trail hike and revisit Clifden

  • Connemara is a must-see for sightseers, nature lovers, and outdoor enthusiasts.

  • Wear comfortable shoes, as many hiking trails in the region have rocky, uneven surfaces.

  • If you plan on spending much time exploring outdoors, bring a rainproof outer layer, water, and sunscreen.

  • Gaeltachts (Irish-speaking regions) are scattered throughout Connemara.
