Top Tamarindo ATV Tours

What a fun day! We booked this excursion because it combined the ATV’s with ziplining, so we did not have to schedule 2 separate tours. We started on the ATV’s after watching a safety video and practicing in an area to ensure we got comfortable driving them. Be sure to take a bandana to cover your nose/mouth or they sell them for $5 each. Then, our guide led us through neighborhoods and trails that got us to the ziplining park. The speed and travel path that our guide used felt very safe. We parked the ATV’s and were then outfitted for ziplining. We had 2 guides who explained everything and ensured we ziplined safely, while making it very fun too. There were 9 ziplines that were over beautiful terrain, and the view from the 1st line was stunning! A photographer joined us and shot pics and videos that you could purchase at the end. We then got back on the ATV’s and drove back to the beginning, but went on a different route. Everyone had a great time and felt very safe throughout the day!

Our family had an amazing day exploring the secret beaches near Tamarindo on ATVs. The rides themselves were just as exciting as the beach stops — cruising along the back roads, kicking up dust, and weaving through the countryside was half the fun. We visited three beaches, each with its own vibe. The first and third had spots to grab a cold drink (bring cash!), and the second beach was a stunning hidden cove with no amenities — totally worth the stop for the views alone. A couple of tips: bring plenty of water and a neck gaiter, because it gets hot and very dusty. These two things made a huge difference for us. The only downside was that the tour office didn’t have a sink to wash up after the ride. After getting absolutely covered in dust, we ended up using our drinking water to clean our hands and faces, which was a bit of a bummer. But honestly, the adventure itself was so good that it still deserves a full five stars. Overall, this ATV tour is an exciting, memorable way to explore Tamarindo’s hidden beaches, and our whole family loved it.

You must take this tour! I had no idea how to drive one of these and Josef was so great and patient at explaining to me and my niece. When she bumped me from behind, he handled it with grace and kindness. I thought he was going to stop the tour, but he explained how to work the gears again and led us on our way. I liked the way he had us on dirt paths without a lot of people or cars first so we could get used to driving the ATVs. He also double checked our comfort and we made adjustments before going in traffic. We got to see so many wonderful places in the area from mountain to beach to back roads to dirt roads with great stops at each point. We saw howler monkeys, starfish, sea urchins, and also learned some history about the area and the people who live here. It was the best and he is the best. There are a lot of ATV tours here, but I promise none of them are as fun as with Josef. You have to book with him. You will have the best time!
