Day Trips from Reykjanes to Gullfoss

Iceland's best landscapes sit down rough tracks that a standard rental can't handle and a coach tour won't reach. A private 4WD opens them up, with a custom itinerary built around what you want to see. Hike in Snæfellsjökull National Park, explore the Surtshellir lava cave, climb the Grábrók crater, or soak in a quiet hot spring—mix the stops to shape your own day across the island.

Discover Iceland’s breathtaking natural wonders during your layover with exclusive Private Golden Circle Tour, featuring direct airport pickup. Designed for travelers with limited time, this short but immersive journey takes you beyond the airport to explore Iceland’s iconic sights in just a few hours. Start at Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where tectonic plates drift apart and history was made over a thousand years ago. Then, witness the raw power of nature at the Geysir Hot Springs Area, where the Strokkur geyser erupts every few minutes, spouting boiling water into the sky. Finish your adventure at Gullfoss Waterfall, one of Iceland’s most stunning cascades, with its roaring waters plunging into a deep canyon. After experiencing these natural marvels, enjoy a smooth, stress-free return to the airport, making your layover truly unforgettable. This condensed tour offers a perfect snapshot of Iceland’s dramatic landscapes.

This is a great way to see the best of the Golden Circle in a day. First, beat long taxi lines at arrivals, with a private transfer directly from the airport. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy a comprehensive itinerary around some of Iceland’s most impressive outdoor sights. See highlights such as Kerid Crater, Gulfoss Waterfall, and Thingvellir National Park, then get a transfer directly to your hotel so you can check-in after the tour.
