Located in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest mountain at about 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). It is the largest free-standing mountain rise in the world, meaning it is not part of a mountain range. Also called a stratovolcano (a term for a very large volcano made of ash, lava and rock), Kilimanjaro is made up of three cones: Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira. Kibo is the summit of the mountain and the tallest of the three volcanic formations. While Mawenzi and Shira are extinct, Kibo is considered dormant and could possibly erupt again. Scientists estimate that the last time it erupted was 360,000 years ago. The highest point on Kibo’s crater rim is called Uhuru, the Swahili word for “freedom.”

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area in Tanzania is unique and attractive for several reasons. At its heart is the Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive volcanic caldera, offering breathtaking views and a diverse ecosystem. The crater hosts a dense population of wildlife, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), making it a prime location for safaris. Additionally, the area is home to the Maasai people, who continue to live traditionally, offering cultural tours and insights into their way of life. The Olduvai Gorge, known as the "Cradle of Mankind," provides a glimpse into early human evolution with its fossils and ancient tools. The conservation area also features a variety of landscapes, from highland forests and grasslands to swamps and lakes, providing stunning scenery, moving sand and rich biodiversity.

The tree is used by the traditional healers from the nearby communities for Rituals and medicinal purposes using the bark of the tree. Some peoples believe that the tree can be used to chase away the evil spirit. The forest walk also involves visiting and if interested taking part in our conservation initiative on either spending 30-45 minutes in our tree nurseries watering and managing young seedlings or plant some trees to help to conserve the forest. From the edge of the forest in the southern part, the hike can be extended to the rice farms where the local farmers conduct an irrigation farming system to more than 3000 ha of rice plots.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably interested in climbing Kilimanjaro on the Machame Route. You’re in good company. Of the seven main routes used to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the Machame route is the most popular path. It is the route of choice for many people because it provides impressive views and a variety of habitats. About 50% of all climbers, and most seasoned climbers, choose the Machame route. It is also one of the cheaper routes due to its easy access and shorter itinerary. The Machame route is also known as the Whiskey route, given its reputation for being a tough climb, in contrast to the easier Marangu route, which is known as the Coca Cola route. Unlike the gradual incline and hut accommodations found on the Marangu Route, the climbers on Machame hike steeper trails, for longer distances, while sleeping in tents.

The Lemosho variation is the ideal schedule for this route. On the 8 day Lemosho route, the trek from Barranco to Barafu is broken up into two days, allowing for a short day just prior to the summit attempt. This is important because summit day begins very early, around midnight, so climbers are sleep deprived going into the toughest day on the mountain. By having a short day beforehand, climbers can be better rested.

The Moshi & Surroundings Bike Tour Our Moshi by Bike Adventure Our guided Moshi Bike Tour is popular for a reason. It’s 20km so it’s long enough to be an adventure but it’s not exactly the Tour de France. And it’s the best way to really see the true Moshi. This fascinating tour takes you from the colorful, bustling Moshi town roads to nearby picturesque villages, through forest trails and along tiny farmland paths. You’ll get an authentic flavour of this little typically-Tanzanian community nestling in the green and fertile foothills of Kilimanjaro, through first-hand experience of town and agricultural life and of its colonial history. And you’ll enjoy a cheeky beer, too!

Machame Route or the “whiskey route” is one of the most popular routes due to its picturesque views and varied landscapes. However, climbing through Machame Route is a bit difficult as compared to Marangu route. Even though the walk on the Machame route is steeper and longer, still the success rate is higher than the Marangu route. Machame Route is not technically difficult, but the climb is more exhausting as it has many ups and downs crossing a chain of valleys and ridges. Therefore, the route is best suited for people with some hiking or trekking experiences and for those who love adventures. For first-timers the climbers, the route can be tiring. Machame Route starts from the south, heading towards the east, navigating beneath the southern ice fields ahead of summiting. Usually, the minimum days to summit Kilimanjaro through this route is six, but seven days is recommended.

Tanzania is a safari paradise with stunning scenery, abundant wildlife, and diverse cultures. This tour will take you to Ngorongoro Crater, the Garden of Eden of Africa. Ngorongoro Crater has a glorious landscape that's teeming with about 25,000 animals including ungulates, four of the Big Five, and other large mammals. It is also one of the best places to spot critically endangered animals like black rhinos, golden cats, and wild hunting dogs. The Serengeti is considered the best African safari park to see the Big Five since it is so much easier to observe them than in any other African park. The variety of its ecosystems is what makes this area such a hospitable home to so many different species of wildlife.
