In a small group of no more than 8 guests, set off from Amboise to discover the vineyards of eastern Touraine, accompanied by your expert guide. Your day begins with a visit to a wine estate in the Vouvray or Touraine-Amboise appellation. Explore the vineyards, learn about the local terroir and winemaking techniques, and discover a traditional troglodyte cellar carved into the region’s characteristic tuffeau limestone. A wine tasting will introduce you to the diversity and character of the estate’s wines. Let’s discover together the emblematic varieties of Touraine, conducted in Organic Viticulture. Go for a 1h30 visit in my family estate of 18 hectares, located in the heart of the Touraine appellation. Discover organic farming practices by exploring these parcels of Sauvignon and Gamay, emblematic varieties of the Touraine Designation. I will explain the work of the vine over the year, the care taken to these soils, these vine feet, these grapes and this environment. Then dive into the world of my wine cellar. Understand the steps involved in making a white and red wine, from harvesting to bottling, with little interventionist methods. Finish this experience with a tasting of 4 cuvées (2 white wines and 2 red wines). Grape juice for kids. One of the best ways to see the Loire Valley is on a bike, so will be taking you on a slow cycle ride beside the mighty Loire River, our tour will give you an insight to life and times of this area. Stopping along the way discover a pilgrim church that pre-dates Lourdes and one of the few places that Champagne is made outside of the protected area. There is also a chance to vist a troglodyte village on our way back from our tastings. You will get to learn the significance of Saumur as a city and its place in history. The places we will degust the wine are the pinnacle of this region and stepped in history. Without giving too much away the Chateau we visit has been in the same family since 1655. You will get the opportunity to buy the wine from both places. In between the tastings we will stop for a well earned picnic French style. We have been around the area for 20 years so while meandering along on our bikes we can give you an insight to the rest of the region.

The region of Chinon is dotted with vineyards, yet it can be hard for tourists to visit them if they don't know the language or wine tasting etiquettes. This vineyard experience makes it easy with a tour created by wine-loving English expatriates who showcase the wine made by Chinon's independent producers.
