I will drive past the ice pond, and along Banyan Tree drive looking for turtles, and nene geese. Then I will show you the sign with the local fish in the area, and tell you all about them. Highly recommend this...

Highly recommend this tour. A great way to spend our day in Hilo seeing waterfalls and Hawaii Volcano National Park including walking through lava tube. Rae was a great guide giving lots of history and information about Hilo. We made stops at candy factory and they had the best chicken macadamia nut salad sandwich for lunch and Hilo shave ice for a sweet treat at the end of our tour.

Great tour of Volcano National Park

Aaron was great with Pualena Tours. Meeting spot was inside the cruise terminal. Very informative and safe. He was prepared with umbrellas, snacks and water. Highly recommend. FYI, walking inside the lava tube is uneven with puddles and low ceilings at times. Wear sturdy walking shoes.

Great tour guide!

Our tour guide, Karen, was the best! She made us feel welcome and shared many of her own experiences in relationship to the places we were seeing. Despite the weather being foggy and rainy up on the mountain, she made our day most enjoyable!!! Rainbow Falls was one of the highlights of the tour!

This was a fantastic tour...

This was a fantastic tour that covered everything we wanted to see in Hilo, from Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park and Rainbow Falls to several historical landmarks, all with great stories along the way! Aaron was a knowledgeable and passionate guide who also provided excellent recommendations for additional things to do in the Hilo area after the tour. He made sure to tailor the experience to each family’s main points of interest, checking in at each stop to see if we wanted to spend any additional time there. Returning to the visitor center at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park so my son could earn his Junior Ranger badge before we left was especially important to our family, and Aaron made sure we could fit it in. Although we had to adjust a few viewpoint stops due to the vog, we still got great pictures of the volcano and steam vents. Aaron also gave us a wonderful recommendation for lunch at the farmers market, and we were so glad we took his advice! All the snacks provided throughout the tour were another great touch that made the experience even better for my son. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see all the major highlights in one day without the stress of navigating and fighting for parking at every stop. Aaron made the entire experience enjoyable, informative, and family-friendly!

Fabulous and informative tour

We had an amazing time on our Volcano National Park and Black Sands Beach tour! Our guides were incredibly knowledgeable and made the experience even more enjoyable by sharing fascinating history and stories about the island along the way. They were friendly, informative, and clearly passionate about Hawaii. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and visiting the black sands beach was a highlight. The lunch provided was also delicious, with several options to choose from, which was a nice touch. Overall, this was a fantastic tour and a great way to experience the island. Highly recommend it!

Great Volcano tour

The tour picked us up at the port of Hilo in a nice van. The guide is local and gave us an interesting tour of Hilo and many interesting facts & stories about Volcano National Park. We stopped at 5 places inside the park - Visitor Ctr, main viewing area, steam vents, lava tube walk through and park entrance sign (photo opp). He purchased local fruit which he cut and shared after the last park stop, as well as water bottles. Definitely a great tour!

Awesome Volcano Tour

This tour was awesome!! Due to NCL changing our port schedule, our ship arrived a day later than scheduled. Big Mike called and confirmed he can still accommodate us. He came early and provided lei's for our group of twelve. He was very energetic and showed us a slide show on the way to the volcano. He helped with group photos at every stop. Lunch was included and you had many choices, I recommend the Korean fried chicken. We stopped and walked through the lava tubes and falls. He made sure we were back in plenty of time for our earlier than scheduled ship departure. The big island souvenirs were the icing on the cake. Big mike is knowledgeable about his Island and a great guide. David

It was a truly unforgettable experience. My tour guide was amazing. She was so enthusiastic and knowledgable and really wanted to share the history of the Ireland with us. It seemed like it was more than a job to her. She was very happy to share her knowledge. it was a totally unforgettable day. A must book!!!

Justin was amazing!! He was so informative and willing to make things work. We had some rain in the morning and he was still making the most of our visit. By the time we went to the first stop the clouds cleared and it was blue sky’s the rest of the day and Justin got us to every stop and seen all beautiful landscapes. 10/10 would highly recommend this tour and tour guide Justin. He was so fun!!!

A great day seeing the volcano

I have been searching for the perfect superlative to describe this tour, but everyone else seems to fall short in expressing just how wonderful it was. If you are fortunate enough to have Jill as your guide, you are in for an enlightening experience. She greets you with her effervescent personality, and as the tour progresses, you are introduced to the Hawaiian language, history, and sagas. Time flies by, and at the end, you wish you could have started again.

Great Itinerary and I love to book small van tours

This company is customer service oriented and did everything possible to accommodate circumstances beyond their control. The immigration control at the Hilo Port is not a smooth process. We had to wait over 2 hours to start our excursion, since several in our group were stuck on the ship waiting for their turn to get off the ship. Amanda did everything possible to try and coordinate a condensed excursion, with the time remaining. On top of this, the day had off and on rain, which made our trip to the Volcanos National Park less than desirable. I felt I received value for the trip we had. NCL should consider extending the amount of time in this port, to allow for the extremely long process to get everyone off of the ship. But this is no reflection on this company.
