Well-organized and fulfilling tour
This was a very well-organized and fulfilling tour. It covered all the must-see highlights around San José.We started at Doka Coffee Estate with breakfast and a coffee tour, then visited the Poas Volcano and Botos lagoon, and later explored La Paz Waterfall Gardens with animals, lunch, and waterfalls.
The itinerary was packed but well-paced. Our guide, Fila, was experienced and explained everything clearly.
Overall, it met my expectations and I would recommend it.

Refreshing Day Out in the Mist
Wonderful day trip from San Jose with Arturo and Marcos. The drive to La Paz was stunning and the waterfalls were incredible - impressed by the safety of the stairs and pathways.

Lovely introduction to Costa Rica
A great value whole day trip. The pick up was spot on time. The transport was clean & well maintained. A great size friendly group. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great coffee tour. He gave us loads of local information. Sadly the weather did not accommodate at the Volcano but the forest walk was lovely. Lunch was included at the La Paz waterfalls. Lots of local dishes to try. A great experience

Poas Volcano and Coffee Plantation
Had an excellent time. Max was the absolute best tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable and I love that he communicated everything in both English and Spanish. Max was patient and made every effort to ensure all on the tour had a great time.

A great time outdoors
Fantastic day tour. Smooth pickup from door then a beautiful drive up to the coffee plantation. The volcano was covered with clouds but that’s just how it goes sometimes. It’s a lovely hike if you like the outdoors. There’s a good amount of walking, some uphill and stairs, so be prepared and take a poncho. The nature preserve was fun! Waterfalls are amazing. Olman is a great and friendly guide. I highly recommend.

Exploring CR
I really enjoy the whole plan. Totally worth it. I joined a group of 5 people from different countries. It was a great experience.
The only thing I didn't like was the driving from our driver. He kept pushing the gas and revving the car the whole way up (hours) in a very unnecessary way (without shifting gears). This caused dizziness for some of us. But still give them 5 starts.

Really well rounded day trip to learn about coffee, do a short volcano hike, see animals and take a waterfall hike.

Fantastic excursion!
Everything about the trip was fantastic! We were picked up on time and immediately handed a bottle of water. Our guide was knowledgeable and personable. He shared great information about the plants and animals, and was engaging in all of our locations. Sharing information while keeping kids and older adults excited and interested is a gift, and Mario definitely has that gift!

When to visit

This is a great stop for families with children as even younger kids can manage the walking trails.
Wear shoes with a good tread to manage the sometimes slippery trails.
The trails are well maintained, but several sets of stairs mean that not every area is accessible to strollers and wheelchairs.
