Interesting, beautiful, easy

This was an excellent and easy half day trip! Our guide was Gary, who was very knowledgeable. The volcano was incredible to see as well as the short tour of the church in Cartago. Bring some snacks and a jacket.

This tour is great if you...

This tour is great if you want to see a variety of places in one day. The lunch was a highlight — probably the best meal I had during my 7-day stay in Costa Rica. I also appreciated that the guide added an extra stop at the Cartago ruins when I asked. Highly recommended.

I was on half day tour so...

I was on half day tour so it was short. Best take full day . Walking inside the crater is part of tour. Going to Cartago and visiting & learning the cathedral history and participating in a few activities was interesting.

Our guide and driver...

Our guide and driver (Nancy and Marvin) were wonderful and attentive. The mountainside is breathtaking and we visited and learned a lot about Central Costa Rica. One thing that I would like to advise, is that you need to add the travel time to the excursion time: this can take between 2-4 hours depending on traffic. It was quite worth it!

Fun tour.

We had a good tour to Irazu Volcano. There were only five of us tourists, so it was a manageable group. We were the only ones when we got to the volcano site. It was pleasant to have the whole area to ourselves. It was a beautiful place to see the Caribbean and Pacific sides from there, and above the clouds! We had a little migraine from being so high up in altitude and coming down the volcano. Trip was well worth it. Thank you.

Great day

I was with my wife and we both enjoyed this perfect day. A beautiful drive up the volcano area and through the Orosi Valley. We had a really great guide named Mauricio. He was very friendly and interesting to talk to...and his English was excellent. The hot springs were perfect and the volcano was just a nice walk and view. The other tours would have been to long for me. 10/10 from us.

They are unable to pick...

They are unable to pick you up from an AirBnB so you have to make your way to closest (listed) hotel that they do pick up from. Can be difficult to arrange for their early morning pickup this way. Eric the guide was wonderful, as was the driver, who expertly travelled very the difficult roads up to Irazu. The stop at Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles in Cartago was very special. Wish we could have had a whole hour alotted there. All in all, an amazing 1/2 day trip.

There is an admission fee to enter Irazu Volcano National Park, and booking in advance can save time, especially if visiting during busy periods.
