Overview

Let a traditional wooden Zanzibari “dhow” boat take you to one of the island’s best snorkeling regions, which can be difficult to reach on your own, on this small-group snorkel cruise from Stone Town. Board your boat with an experienced crew and fellow guests, and look for wild dolphins as you sail to Menai Bay. Here, swim and snorkel near a mangrove island and visit the uninhabited islet of Kwale for lunch. Snorkel equipment is provided for added convenience.

Itinerary

Meet directly at the boat launch point or request pickup in Stone Town, then board the traditional wooden Zanzibari “dhow” boat with a small group to reach Mnai Bay. Keep watch for dolphins and other marine life along the way, then drop anchor near a mangrove island to swim and snorkel (gear provided).

Afterwards, set course for the nearby uninhabited island of Kwale for a beach picnic lunch and time for a final swim. Chat with your crew to learn about the local marine life and culture of the islands. Finally, sail back to the pier and meet your driver for transport back to your hotel in Stone Town (if requested).

Ismail was attentive fantastic and has a fast knowledge of Zanzibar and in general. His singing was world class and somebody should make sure he gets to the next idols. He made us feel welcome and comfortable. Ismail is well spoken with impeccable manners. He goes the extra mile.

chaotic, overpriced and disappointing day

My partner and I were very disappointed with this trip. The car that picked us up had no aircon and the driver didn’t speak any English which made us feel very unsafe. We travelled for 4+ hours in total and only met with an English speaking guide halfway. The rest of the trip was chaotically managed... from which boat we needed to get on (to travel another 50 minutes) to the overripe and rancid fruit. We were made to feel very awkward the whole time. We also strongly felt like the price was far too high (we paid £115 in total including the transfer) for what was a very poor service. We met with a much friendlier guide who charged genuine prices. We did not rebook with this company and would recommend others to follow suit!
