Scary and unpleasant private boat tour

This was a very unpleasant experience. The first 40 minutes were spent being thrown around a small boat, as the driver went as fast as possible into huge waves. We were soaked and holding on for dear life. Our tail bones kept smacking against the seat. I asked the driver to slow down, he didn’t care. They blamed rough conditions but never offered to reschedule us. They took us out there with no warning of what was to come, no offer of a life vest. We got to the cave and we were told we can’t swim because of the environment, which is totally fine. But then the tour guide and skipper started smoking cigarettes, so I guess that’s ok for the environment. They brought us to a crowded rocky beach after, you have to pay 1,500 Leke for each chair (more than advertised) and they forgot a bottle opener for the beers that are supposed to be included in the tour. Btw it’s only 2 beers per person which is not mentioned in the listing. They leave you on the gross beach and that’s most of the “tour.” On the way back the conditions were calmer, thankfully, but the driver inexplicably revved the engine to go faster, turned back at me and smirked. It seemed like he got a kick out of making me scarred. We were also returning early, because we asked to leave the crowded rocky beach, so there was no reason to be in a rush, and I had asked him multiple times to go slowly. He didn’t care at all. This was a private “tour” so it’s not like someone else on the boat was asking to get back quickly. The whole experience was horrible. This isn’t a tour in any way, they race you out to the cave, drop you off at a gross beach (where you have to pay more money) and then race you home. I’ve done boat tours all over the world, some through Viator, some direct with local providers and this was BY FAR the worst experience. DO NOT BOOK.

WE REGRET THAT THIS SITUATION ESCALATED TO THIS POINT. But we feel it is necessary to clarify the events as they occurred. From the very beginning at the meeting point, there were issues with inappropriate behavior. The drinks refrigerator at the bar was damaged, accompanied by claims that all items were freely accessible at the bar, despite the fact that the drinks included were clearly provided on board of the boat. During this time, our tour host and other guests were also subjected to verbal pressure, including threats of leaving a one-star review if specific demands were not met. Following the tour, we were contacted by the guest’s hotel, which informed us of incidents involving the removal of food and items from their premises. For privacy and professionalism, we will not disclose the hotel’s name (they may risk a one star review to) We also wish to note the strong contrast between the review and the feedback given in person. After the tour, our staff personally asked the guests about their experience, and they stated that they had enjoyed the trip and “had a great time.” While we respect every guest’s right to share their opinion, we believe it is important that reviews accurately reflect reality. The online description provided does not align with the events of the day or the feedback shared directly with our team. We remain committed to maintaining a respectful environment for our guests and staff, and to delivering safe and enjoyable experiences for everyone on board.
