Great short tour for the day. Got out of town into the hills. Lunch was awesome at the cafe. Our driver was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

The 3 course lunch at Cafe Mariposa was AMAZING! The flavour of the dishes especially with the cocoa theme was some of the best food we've experienced.
We gave the experience 3 stars because we booked a Private tour but ended up having to share our mini bus part of way with a group of Japanese tourists because their mini bus had broken down. Not the experience we wanted on our honeymoon.
Also, without consulting us, the tour operator told the restaurant we wouldn't be having the tour of the restaurant gardens, which was something we were really looking forward to.
We were invited to join the same group of tourists on a tour to the local brewery but declined. If we were offered another private tour we probably would have accepted.
Also the actual Lopinot cultural site was undergoing renovations so we couldn't tour the historical house on the site.
All in all we would absolutely go back to the restaurant but the other aspects were a bit lacking. It felt like we paid alot of money for a lunch.
Skip the rest and go straight to lunch, you'll love it.

We are very sorry for ruining your precious honeymoon time. We would also like to express my sincere appreciation to you and your husband to allow another group of people to ride with you in your car after they were stranded on a mountain road due to car trouble.
Also please acdept our apologizy that you could not have enough time enjoy the garden, as this tour was mainly for you to enjoy your meal in a distant cacao village. In advance, our guide will make sure to explain the tour itinerary thoroughly to our guests so that they will not be disappointed.
