Great tour, beautiful scenery, great guides

The scenery on the way to the beaches at Vlore and Himare is absolutely stunning. It was a gorgeous, sunny day but a bit too cool for swimming. We really didn't miss it because of our guides, Erdi and Hertel. We have been on many tours in many countries and this one was the most enjoyable of all. In addition to being very knowledgeable of Albanian history, they were a lot of fun to be with. I highly recommend this tour with or without these guides, but if you get them, it will be your lucky day.

Highlight of Our Albania Tour Don’t Miss Himarë

We visited Vlorë and Himarë on a day trip, and it was truly the highlight of our Albania tour. The journey was quite long, so I would recommend making it a two-day trip if possible—or spending less time in Vlorë, as Himarë is definitely worth dedicating more time to. Our driver was excellent, very kind and attentive, always checking if we needed anything. He also shared interesting details about the local history, attractions, and monuments in Vlorë. Himare itself is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear turquoise water at the perfect temperature for swimming and sandy clean beach. Be sure to come prepared! We were offered beach loungers, as well as access to showers and changing rooms, which made the experience even more comfortable. Lunch was delicious—fresh wild seabass served with a crisp salad. The whole trip was amazing and memorable, though the long road made it a bit tiring.

Disappointing and Stressful

Disappointing Both the driver and guide were kind but completely unprofessional. It was as if I was on their tour. The driver was unreachable and we waited on the side of the road for 20 minutes in the heat. They spoke loudly the entire time. We stopped to say hello to a friend of the guide. The guide spent the whole time taking pictures and said we would stay at the beach because he wanted to swim. The driving was precarious. I was not told about the hike to the beach and it was dangerous to not have proper shoes. The guide really tried but just lacks the experience and knowledge.

Hello, Thank you for your message. I am sorry to hear your concerns as I spoke with the guide and he said he did everything to make sure you were accommodated and happy. The tour visits Gjipe Bay which is a hidden beach not accessible by car & it is mentioned in the itinerary that's its a small hike. This is the highlight of the tour for all our travellers. If you didn't like the locations we are visiting then perhaps a different tour would have suited you better. The driver is very experienced and did get caught in some traffic trying to collect you after the walk along the promenade however this is beyond his control. We provided the transport, lunch and specified locations oulined in the tour. I will pass on your feedback regarding the talking between driver and guide and the fact the guide wanted a swim. Usually our guests are more than happy for everyone to enjoy the day and the beach together. Please accept our apologies that the tour did not meet your expectations and we hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Albania. Regards Mario

A once-in-a-lifetime tour - guided by a local who shares much about the country's history and culture. The beaches were beautiful, and the seafood lunch outstanding. Make sure to wear tennis shoes for the mid-afternoon beach visit - the hike will be worth it.
