From the start, the instructor was very welcoming and started us off with raki and local wine. The group was a mixture of nationalities, but he spoke in English. He was very knowledgeable and well prepared, but still left us some hands-on experience, including making a burek with phyllo like dough. The menu included Albanian specialties.

This cooking class was a highlight of my group’s trip to Albania. Dervis, our chef, was friendly, knowledgeable, interactive, accommodating, and truly made us feel welcomed. The cooking class was filled with great conversation with Dervis and all class participants, the recipes resulted in delicious traditional Albanian food, and the memories will last us a lifetime! We did the cooking class on our first night in Tirana and we learned so much about Albanian food and the beautiful culture that set us up for the rest of our trip. We want to thank Dervis again so much for hosting such a beautiful night! Highly recommend this cooking class!!

I booked this experience with my partner and friend as we are traveling in Albania for a wedding and I am so, so happy I found it. Not only did we learn how to make delicious food (the best börek I’ve ever had!!), we were taught the technique and science behind it all. The course was interactive and encouraged conversation between parties, giving us the opportunity to chat with people across the world we never would’ve met otherwise. We also learned a ton about Albanian culture and history during our time at the cooking class, which would’ve made the experience worth it without all the delicious food. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone traveling in Albania as I know the memories made during this class will last a lifetime.

It was the best cookshop i've been in, our chef was helpful and friendly. His way if teaching things made us understand and do way easily. You should totally do that in albania,Tirana.

Where to begin - we had the best time with Dervis who showed us how to cook 3 Albanian dishes and explained the cultural context behind each one. As two young women, we were joined by a group of Belgian men but the atmosphere was so relaxed and welcoming we all got on like a house on fire by the end! Couldn't recommend this experience enough! We got plenty of food and a constant stream of alcohol. At the end of the night we were able to take our food home with us, and Dervis even helped us get a taxi! Overall had the best experience and couldn't recommend this enough!

Such an exciting way to spend an evening and getting to taste so many authentic dishes! It surpassed my expectations and was fun to try some cooking, which I don’t do much for myself. If you have a free evening in Tirana, do this class!

I got lucky and had a small class, which meant more chatting and learning about the others in my class, and Dervin, who is an amazing teacher. The food was amazing, and I truly enjoyed the process and care that went into it. I feel accomplished and yet I think anyone could do it. Cooking classes are such a unique way to experience local culture, and this place is set up to focus on just that, with a very professional and clean kitchen. I would for sure return. Tempted to book again tomorrow in fact 😂

Traditional Albanian cooking class

A very lively cooking class aided by raki, wine and fantastic food. Dervis our host was a genuinely lovely, helpful and patient chef who goes out his way to make everyone in the group feel relaxed and by the end of the class extremely full. We had to take our dessert back to the hotel as the generosity of the food never stopped. If you are in Tirana this is a must.
