Itinerary

Greet your private guide in Delft’s ambient Market Square and admire the grand architecture of Stadhuis (Town Hall), an impressive 19th-century structure. Inform your guide of any sights you wish to see and relish the opportunity to customize your itinerary according to your interests.

Then, amble along Delft’s picturesque streets to the Old Town, home to historical landmarks such as Agneta Park and the Old Church (Oude Kerk). As you stroll adjacent to canals, you’ll learn of Delft’s links to Johannes Vermeer, a Dutch Golden Age painter born and raised in the town.

Delft is famous for its association with William of Orange, the leader of the Dutch Revolt and the independent Dutch Republic. Enrich your knowledge with history-rich commentary as you learn about the influential figure’s tragic end, and see his tomb in New Church (Nieuwe Kerk).

If you wish, discover Delft’s artistic heritage during a visit to the Royal Delft, the last remaining Delftware factory from the 17th-century. Famed for its distinctive blue-and-white pottery inspired by Chinese porcelain, the factory boasts a collection of beautiful hand-painted treasures.

When your tour concludes, bid your guide farewell and continue exploring Delft independently.

Yvette was fabulous! She answered each and every question, added her perspective as a local and was gracious besides.

Pleasant Morning in Delft

Paul_C, Jun 2023
Our tour guide was on time and delightful. She gave us a very pleasant tour of the City of Delft. Very little was mentioned about Delft pottery—this was not a problem for me because I have a fair amount of knowledge on the subject; however, some others in the group thought they would have liked to have heard a little more on the subject. Tour was carried out at a good pace. Well done!

Good guide, poor tour.....

Michael_S, Aug 2019
I was charged $300 for a 3 hour tour. In the end the tour was barely 1.5 hours and what I covered could have been done on my own. The supplier did not tell me I was the only one on the tour and when complete did not meet my expectations. My guide was good, but the tour left me angry as it did not deliver what the description promised. Take this tour with caution.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the region's history and we greatly enjoyed the information. He was very personable and thoroughly enjoyed the topics, which made the tour even more enjoyable. He joined us for lunch at the end of the tour and we had great fun.
