Leave your Tel Aviv hotel by air-conditioned vehicle, and travel to the picturesque Galilee region, where Jesus spent much of his life. On route, hear fascinating facts about the Galilee hills and towns that were the backdrop to Jesus’ early life and ministries.
Stop in Nazareth, holy for being where Mary and Joseph lived. Visit the Church of the Annunciation, where the Angel Gabriel is said to have spoken to Mary, and the Church of St Joseph, built on the site of Joseph’s carpentry workshop. Then, peep inside the Synagogue Church, where tradition holds that Jesus read from the book of Isaiah, proclaiming himself the Messiah.
Travel onward to Capernaum, an ancient village where Jesus preached and Peter is thought to have had his home. See the church built over Peter’s house, and tour the ruined synagogue that stands over the synagogue where is Jesus is believed to have taught.
Lastly, drive through Tiberias and pause at Yardenit, the sacred baptism site on the Jordan River. Experience the palpable sense of history of this spot, held to be where Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.
