Overview

Explore Tenorio Volcano National Park and visit a sloth sanctuary with this private tour. So 5 stars is not enough for this incredible experience. It was such an incredible experience. Edgar our guide was extraordinary! He was so knowledgeable and shared so much information we will be processing all that happened on this amazing tour for months. Fatima at the sloth experience was next level, her knowledge and sharp eye was amazing. Not enough positive things to say about this tour. We feel like we booked a tour and founds some friends. So so amazing! We saw monkeys, sloths, poisonous snakes, and amazing frogs, too many kinds of birds to list. It was a 10 star experience out of 5!! Totally exceeded our expectations!

Put your guide, Willy, was a good one. Pointed out birds and monkeys along the way. Patient driver. Pleasant man. Appreciated stopping for breaks at banos and quick restaurant fueling. The tour was of course interesting with short hikes and falls and sloth sanctuary. Well organized.

Grateful for an early pickup to get ahead of the crowds and heat. Our guide, David, was knowledgeable and good at answering our many questions. The waterfall is beautiful and lunch was delicious but fave part was the local farm where we saw sloths, frogs and toured their various crops. Gorgeous countryside. Only thing missing was the Tenorio hike… realized when we got home we only hiked to the waterfall and back… no viewing of any volcanic steam etc… think the waterfall/sloth/coffee tour is more popular so be sure you confirm with your guide you want the extra hike. Still an amazing experience though and glad we picked this!

Bijagua Ranas was an amazing experience. We saw monkeys, sloths, exotic birds & frogs. Guide Nicole & driver Carolina were great explaining the species & Costa Rica’s history.

Excellent day with Edgar. Everything went as planned. Edgar was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna and overall a great guide. We were a small group of 3 and the private tour option was as perfect for us. It’s a long drive and day if travelling from Tamarindo but definitely worth it.

10/10 recommend

This was an amazing trip! The driver was excellent navigating to each destination and our tour guide “Martini” was so friendly and full of knowledge! We saw everything that was promised including sloths. I would do this again for sure!!

I was told pick-up time at 6:40am - with that being said, I have to be prepared for this exact time WHICH I WAS due to my phone service so I went outside my Airbnb at 6:40am and nobody was around. I then get back to my place and have a missed call pop up on my phone at 6:10am. Just one missed call. I didn't get to make the $160 trip and the guide told me to contact her boss after I asked for a credit so I can do it the next day. This was on a Monday! I came to this area specifically for this trip - true bummer. I tried - gluck. If they tell you to meet at a certain time and place, make sure you don't end up like me somehow :(

We called several times and we waited for more then 20 minutes, we have to consider that we other customers and you have to consider that you did not pay for a private tour.

This place is stunning. Unfortunately, the guide did little else then walk the trail with us. He didn't find any birds or other animals and gave almost no information about the river. At one point, he simply left my daughter and I and hiked away with the rest of the group. I measured the group's pace and it was 3.8 mph. Great for a workout but way too fast to enjoy the rainforest. He was a nice man, but not a competent guide.

This tour is a hike as described in the title & tour description. Definitely not a workout but not a bird watching tour either. The tour guide doesn’t leave alone anyone , he simply guides and the guests follow ... if something was not on your liking you should’ve said something to the tour guide and 100% he would’ve try to accommodate your needs .
