We had a great time with Leo! It was a fun to step out of Tamarindo and appreciate the incredible biodiversity of Costa Rica. We traveled with my mother-in-law and 5-year-old son - both easily navigated the walk. We saw spiders, different incredible bugs, scorpions, snakes, turtles, birds, possums, and frogs all hiding in plain sight. Leo has incredible knowledge and passion nature. Our son loved it!

Wonderful night time experience! Didn’t let the rain stop us! Lots of insects and creatures of the night. Leo is extremely knowledgeable and just as excited as I was to see what was out there.

Our guide Leo was great. He did a good job of looking for animals to see. Unfortunately we mostly just saw was the same kinda spiders again and again. We did see a small snake which was really cool but compared to some of the other night hikes we have done, this had the least amount of wildlife. That being said I would still recommend it.

This was a fun night walk. Leo met us at the trail entrance and we had just under 3 hours to explore around. Saw snakes, tarantulas, scorpions, etc. Not much in the way of mammals this time of year. Bring long pants and shoes. We showed up in shorts and chacos and have the bug bites to prove it. One note on the meeting place - it is indeed in front of a garden shop on a dark highway adjacent to some commercial/industrial store fronts. Don't worry, the pindrop location Leo gives you is correct. We showed up early, didn't see anyone there 10 minutes before, and through reading reviews (one in particular), we were mislead into thinking that the meet up spot was in Loco Tours (I think). So we left to find the tour spot, only to have Leo call us asking where we were. Ignore the previous bad review, meet at the pindrop spot and have fun!

We did not get to go on this tour because the instructions the tour guide gave us to the meeting place were to a location that doesn’t have their name. They used a pin location of a plant store next to them. Also, they don’t have a phone number listed on their website. We should have received a refund but were denied. Very unprofessional. The children were extremely disappointed. I would not recommend using this tour company.

Amazing experience! I had high expectations for wildlife, but they were exceeded! Leon was a fantastic guide- respectful, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We saw multiple species of frog, two species of snake, a bunch of great insects and arthropods, just about everything I was looking for.

Leo is a fantastic guide and a really nice guy! He has spent a lot of time in Costa Rica both in Guanacaste and the OSA Peninsula. We saw lots of spiders, frogs, insects, birds and mammals. What you see will depend on the time of year, rainfall and luck! Enjoy!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and patient with our more skittish friends. Our younger grandson was fascinated with the tarantulas, scorpions and sleeping butterflies! Conditions were muddy… as expected this time of year! Wear rubber boots if you brought them! We even saw a kinkajou (pretty rare I guess)!

Leo was extremely knowledgeable about the biodiversity of Costa Rica, and was able to spot all kinds of creatures we would have completely missed if he hadn’t pointed them out! I was a little nervous at first, but felt at ease with Leo’s guidance. We saw tarantulas, frogs, birds, a snake and lots of other weird insects and spiders. I would definitely recommend this tour if you like animals and insects!

Leo is a great guy who is very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the wildlife around Tamarindo. We went on the search for snakes, and ended up finding three! We definitely recommend his night walk for any retile and amphibian and nature enthusiasts.

This is a new tour offered in the Tamarindo area and my guide Lopold was amazing. He introduced me to many creatures I have never seen in my life and although we never seen a snake, anteater, or owl each evening can be different. What I seen on my tour could most like be there but the chance of seen larger wildlife exists "It's Nature and they have their own schedule." For those that are not afraid of things like snakes, scorpions, and spiders this is a great tour and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to do something a little different. "Pura Vida"

Quelle belle expérience familiale, pour apprendre sur la faune. Nous avons vu plusieurs sortes d’espèces. Léopold a été un guide hors du commun avec énormément de connaissances. Il a pris son temps pour nous expliquer et répondre à tous nos questions. C’est une activité à refaire. Merci !!
