Overview

Visit the special city of Alanya and tour the Alanya castle and Dim cave on foot and in a boat. Check out the historical monuments, the mighty walls of the castle, the panoramic vistas over the sea and land, and the amazing view from a cliff-top location. We'll take you by the culture house to see how a pumpkin is transformed into a lantern, then head to River Dim for lunch and swimming. We'll then take you through the Dim cave to see the stalactites and stalagmites before finishing up with a boat trip back to Alanya.

The tour was very heavily catered for Germans, meaning that often the tour guide forgot to translate into English. The tour itself was very below average and we did not get a lot of information on the actual history of Alanya. The town is a very nice place but unfortunately we spent most of our time at the markets or on a boat ‘tour’, whilst the tour guide did nothing. We had to pay to see the interesting sites of the city, which is not a problem, but had very limited time to see the sites. I am not sure what I actually paid for for this tour. The day felt poorly structured and the tour guide done very little to provide a guided tour experience. He was a lovely man but I would recommend just getting a transfer into the town and seeing it in your own time.

The Alanya city tour program is clearly described in advance, both online and during the booking process. It includes a panoramic city visit, a boat trip along the coast, a short stop at the bazaar, and some free time to explore the town on your own. Entrance to certain historical sites (like the castle or cable car) is optional and mentioned beforehand as extra – we try to make this transparent so guests can decide what they’d like to do during their free time. Regarding the guide’s language support: our tours cater to a mixed international group, and while we always aim to provide explanations in multiple languages (including English and German), sometimes group dynamics can affect how often each language is used. We're sorry if you felt English was not sufficiently covered – we’ll be sure to reinforce this point with our team. We’re also a bit surprised by the 1-star rating, especially since you mentioned that Alanya is a beautiful town and the guide was a lovely person. Constructive criticism is always appreciated, but we’re unsure what exactly warranted such a low score.
