Itinerary

After hotel pickup from select areas in Santiago, your tour begins with the 40-minute drive south of the city to Santa Rita Winery. During the journey, listen to your guide's introduction to the Maipo Valley and the vineyard you are visiting.

When you arrive, enjoy a photo op of the scenery and the big house before the guided tour begins through the vineyard. You'll start in the winery and finish with the bottling process, learning all about wine production. Then enjoy a tasting of three wines, after which you have time to browse souvenirs or purchase bottles of wine to take with you, if you wish.

Founded in 1880, Santa Rita is mostly known for its star wine, 120 de Santa Rita. The main house is located near the town of Alto Jahuel, which is also home to the Andean Museum, displaying a collection of aboriginal art.

Your tour ends with return to the city for drop-off.

Mass production and low cost winery

This winery is oriented to mass production and low cost. A lot of automatic equipment. They carry few top brands which aren’t part of the tasting. An impressive history around this winery.

My tour was reserve for 1.30pm the Chilenean tour operator called to pick me up at 2.30pm un hour after my tour m. By the time we supposed to be there we would be 2 hours late. I decided to get a private tour with a taxi. DO NOT RECCOMENDED VIATOR CILENEANBTOUR OPERATOR, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Exactly as promised. We were picked up on time by a lovely gentleman. There was only a total of 3 people on the tour and we made it to winery in good time. The wine tour itself was awesome. It would have been nice to have a little more time to explore the grounds but we made it back to our hotel within the 4 hour time allotment that was advertised.

What a complete joke! We booked a half-day tour at the scheduled time of 10:45 a.m. We were picked up at our hotel at 8:30 a.m. We knew others were going too so figured that was ok. But then we were rushed into a tour at 10:30 a.m. and very sternly told that we had to be back at the parking lot by 11:50 a.m. in order to return. What!? We should have finished up early afternoon. We didn't even get to finished the wine tasting part of the tour!! To top it off, the driver Vanessa was completely unsafe. She spent more time texting and reading her phone than she did looking at the road. Don't go!!!!

The tour itself at the vineyard was amazing. The tour operator was horrible. Changed the time, which was okay, but then stated there was no English speaking tour for us. He could not speak English. Would NOT use them again!!

Transportation aspect was fine and on time, but the driver/guide gave little information about start and end times. Also didn’t explain why the entire group had to show up 1.5 hours before the winery tour actually started. Everyone just sat around and did nothing for 1.5 hours, no one told us whether we could walk around, grab a snack, explore the grounds etc.

I do not get to go because of transportation and translation problems my translator was not helpful I asked if I needed to go to the same location as the day before or what then I asked if I needed to cancel I was sent a message to email someone that was gone for the day then I asked if I would go to the location would someone pick me up and I got no response so I do not know if my booking was canceled or if I will get my money back

This was an absolute disaster. First, they switched the tour on the day to a different winery. Then the pick-up time kept changed 3 times and we were picked up about 30 minutes late. We were picked up in a subcontract car instead of a van. We assumed we were the only ones on the tour but could not ask as the driver only spoke Spanish. We then pulled up in front of a hotel to pick up two additional people. We aborted and have not received a refund despite many attempts with both the local provider nor Viator. Shame on both.
