We had the most wonderful experience with our guide Selim Bakir.He took us around, told us delightful stories about the places we visited and knew exactly what to focus on at Gobekle tepe and the other sites. The choice for lunch was just what we needed and gave us a chance to taste authentic Turkish cuisine. Selim made the trip even more memorable through his genuine care of us the whole day.

I did a private Gobeklitepe tour on May 4, 2025, and it was honestly fantastic. Selim Bakir Turizm handled everything smoothly, but the real highlight was my guide—super knowledgeable, passionate, and a great storyteller. He made the ancient sites and museums of Şanlıurfa feel alive.
Everything ran really smoothly. Comfortable ride, well-organized, and my guide was friendly and welcoming right from the start. But what made it stand out was how he brought the history to life. At Gobeklitepe, he explained the mysteries of the T-shaped pillars and the latest discoveries in a way that was both clear and fascinating. I asked loads of questions, and he had thoughtful answers every time.
That same energy carried through the rest of the tour. At the Şanlıurfa Archaeology and Mosaic Museum, he pointed out little details I would’ve missed and connected everything to the bigger historical picture. The Halepli Bahçe Mosaic Museum was just as impressive—he really made you feel the history behind the art. We also stopped at Kızılkoyun Nekropolu, and he kept things interesting at every turn. Plus, all the entrance fees were included, with the package.
What I appreciated most was how flexible he was. He let me take my time at the spots I found most interesting—no rushing. Lunch was included too, and his local food tips were spot on. He also made sure I was comfortable throughout, with water and little check-ins, which I really appreciated. Selim also know the right spots to take your picture perfectly, and that for me is a bonus.
It was all super well-organized, but what made it memorable was my guide’s genuine love for what he does. If you’re going to Gobeklitepe, book with Selim. Easy five stars!
