Josué was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about his country and the sites we got to see. At no point did he make us feel rushed, but ensured we were able to do/see everything. Great trip, highly recommend if you’re here for a day and want to see the highlights. Lunch was great too.

Josue (spelling?) was a wonderful guide who spoke English very well, and informed us on all major topics related to El Salvador’s history and current situation. We went up a volcano for excellent view and gardens, toured the “Pompeii” of the Americas Joya de Ceren to see an ancient village frozen in time, and enjoyed a restful lunch stop along scenic lake in caldera. We didn’t even have lunch but enjoyed sitting and looking at the lake. Driver was excellent getting us up and down the hills. Don’t expect grand structures at the ruins—it was just a farming village but well-preserved. Such wattle and daub construction would normally be lost to time.

Josué, our tour guide, is OUTSTANDING! He speaks excellent English with a mild accent. He knows the history of his country including ancient, modern, political, and more. He talked to us along the way coming and going. He driver was waiting at the foot of our Oceania Vista cruise ship at least 30 minutes before our 8 am meeting time with the van nearby. We had 5 couples in van that held 15, so it was very comfortable. The sites were excellent and he and the driver Josué (yes, same name!) made sure we got back to our ship before 3 pm, we'll ahead of the ship's departure time of 4 pm, which we were all very glad about. He adjusted our stopping times with our collective agreement so we should be sure to get back on time. Some of the Oceania's own tours o ly got back shortly before 4 pm. Would love to do other tours with Josué.

We had a wonderful tour with Gaby. Gaby is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing tourists her beautiful country. Her communication skills including her English are excellent and she managed time very well keeping us ahead of larger groups. Gaby was flexible about responding to our specific interests and enjoyed answering our many questions. Thank you again Gaby.

Gab was nice and knowledgeable. I booked the tour for Sunday but was advised that tour was unavailable and was asked if i wanted a refund or rebooked another day. i really wanted this tour and only had limited time so we agreed for Monday. However, i was not advisdd that Joya de Cerem and other mayan sites are closed on Mondays. i wished i would have been told in advance so i can find a different tour on Sunday. Nevertheless, the trip was ok and we passed by Tazumal, had lunch with Coatepeque lake view and went to Cerro Verde park with a nice
view of the volcano. Tried some local food which is good.

If you have one day to experience El Salvador away from the beach and the City do this tour! Roberto was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable about history and proud to show off his country. Perfect English. We had a blast all day and really enjoyed lunch in the volcano crater. Felt safe the entire time. Trip is highly recommended!!

Gabriela was my tour guide. Incredibly nice and informative. Absolute joy showing me around. She provided so much information on the country and other places I should visit that I took notes and shared them with others in a different tour. Joya de Ceren was great to see, the Park was great, especially since I climbed Santa Ana days later and lunch overlooking the lake was amazing.
Highly recommend!
