Two of us spent 6+ hour with Elyor to explore 4 places in Samarkand old town. Elyor is very patient waiting for us with 10 minutes late. He answered all our questions: history and current events, traditions and modern challenges, religions and political rules. Highly recommend this tour.

We got good experience and memory thanks to great guide. He has a lot of knowledge and conducted us efficiently within limited time schedule. I can recommend him to everyone because of his competency.

That is a fantastic way to see the Samarkand attractions and learn the history of them. I would recommend doing this tour upon arrival. It is an extensive tour so there isn't time to go inside all of the buildings so it's a great overview, you can then choose which ones you would like to return to. I would highly recommend this tour.

If I could give this a 4.5 that would be my real rating (the small quibbles are described - but none are deal-breakers). This was a strong guided tour at a very reasonable price. Elyor arrived slightly late, but he was polite with a strong knowledge of Samarkand and its history. He was also fine on giving me, a solo traveler, the full group tour (it did take less time than it would have in a group, but that is natural). Elyor's English is clear with a slight accent, infrequently but sometimes I had slight difficulty understanding him. The sites on the tour were fascinating and you got a good overview of Samarkand in half a day.

What an absolute gentleman Elyor is, this tour is incredible and great value for money although I think you could charge a little bit more given how much time and care is put into the tour. 5 stars, would recommend to everyone!

Adham was a super guide, too gentle and kind, he showed us too many places and took his time to explain things,he also took us beautiful pictures. I highly recommend him while visiting samarkand.

We truly enjoyed the day we spent with Elyor. The guide is a nice person and professional who knows history of the city very well. He showed us the main city sights as it was mentioned on the description of the tour. The time passed really quickly and interesting. Thank you so much Elyor!

My Guide was Elyor and I was the only person so it kinda become Personal Tour. He is very knowledgeable and friendly person. He gave me an insight of all the monuments and answered all my questions. I really got to know about uzbek people and there culture. Its a must take Tour if you are in samarkand and yes its a walking tour.

The guided tour of Samarkand was really nice and interesting! The guide provide me a lot of information and I really liked the fact that is feasible by feet without the need to spend time by public transport or by car. The only thing that i would improve is the beginning of the tour, since i go to the meeting point but there were dozen of groups and tour guide so i spent time searching for the right one. Apart from that i’ve contacted the tour operator and shared me the number of the guide. So at the end it was worth for the money and it was a nice experience!

We had the pleasure and the luck to be guided in Samarkand by Adkham.
What a beautiful tour. What an excellent guide he is. Outstanding value for money. Outstanding value for time. The tour takes 5/6 hours depending on the interest you have in visiting the standard monuments/historical buildings, and some ad hoc requests you may have.
Adkham really exploited the beauty of Samarkand through his passion and knowledge. It's mostly walking, so be prepared for that.
Would defintely recommend this tour, high quality at a more than fair price.

Fantastic 5-6 hour tour with great local guide Ellior. Booked a group tour, but turned out I was alone. Ellior nonetheless did the tour with a lot of enthusiasm and was very knowledgable. He could answer all my questions and also was able to give me some hints for shopping.
For what this tour costs, it was absolutely amazing. I doubt any of the more expensive tours actually provide more value and/or better insights. Also the tour had absolutely no unskippable shopping stops, which is always appreciated.

During our recent trip to Samarkand, we had the pleasure of being guided by Elyor, a truly exceptional tour guide. Elyor's deep knowledge of the city's rich history, culture, and architecture brought the ancient Silk Road city to life in a way that was both engaging and enlightening. His passion for Samarkand's heritage was evident in every story he shared, making our tour not only informative but also incredibly enjoyable.

I had a really great time on this trip. My guide was very knowledgeable and i appreciate that despite this being a group trip and it ending up just me on the tour, he still took the tour and gave all the attention to detail. I was very fortunate to have this tour on my own and I learnt a lot about both Samarkand and Uzbekistan in general and loved piecing the history together.
Some of the buildings are magnficent and majestic and it was an awe to be in them. I never felt rushed and i felt like everywhere i went was in order to get the most out of the experience.
Would definitely recommend this tour. Well worth it.

All other tours on the site are 50+ USD per person. This one is 20 USD. They take you to the same places. I got a private tour since no one else signed up. I appreciate them for not cancelling. Can I complain about a private tour for $20? Of course not. My guide, Alyor, even gave me a ride in his car between the sites. I would recommend.

The guide was really knowledgeable about everything we saw.
We were a bit dubious at first because of the cost but it was a really good tour at a very reasonable price.
Definitely recommend

Adkham is one of the hardest working and most passionate guides I’ve ever met. Be prepared to get your steps in as this tour covers most of the major sites of Samarkand, which left me feeling exhausted but also like I’d gotten the most out of a full day. I admire how he maintains such high spirits throughout given how physically taxing the experience can be. (And I caution those who aren’t in relatively good shape or those visiting on an especially warm summer’s day that this isn’t an exactly a leisurely stroll around town.)
Adkham knows the history of his native city as only a local can, and you can tell how much he beams with pride to call Samarkand his home. You’d be lucky to get the chance to have him show you around like I was.
Thank you, Adkham. I’m grateful for sharing your knowledge.

Very well informed , friendly and flexible guide, we ended up having a private walking tour of most of Samarkand’s wonders and also places off the beaten track. Definitely recommend this tour as not only is it exactely what you need but at very very resonable price. And, who knows, it may end up being private.

Excellent tour. Our guide was able to explain the details of all the landmarks and also answered any questions
He had a lot of patience with us taking so many photos. Highly recommended.

Despite the rain and my sprained ankle, we visited few places, great history and landmarks. The guide was very friendly and very knowledgeable. Will definitely recommend and will return again in the future.

As a solo traveller, I booked a walking tour (6 hours) via the viator app. I highly recommend to take the tour with Mr. Elyor.
He's very knowledgeable and very kind. He explains to us details of each locations.
Thank you very much . We all had a wonderful time

This is the highlight of my trip in Samarkand. My guide, Elyor, is the most knowledgeable and patient guide one could ever have. I never had a dull moment with him as we were retracing back ancient history. Fluent in English and took nice pictures! Thank you so so much!
Louise_B, Sep 2023
Highly recommended! My guide Elyor was really excellent. He enabled me to see and understand the historical buildings and their importance in a way I would never have done if going by myself. The tempo was good and he was able to answer all my questions.
Sid_A, Sep 2023
I took this tour at the end of August'23. It was great, my tour guide Elyor was very knowledgeable about the historical significance of all the sights - and was very informative. And it was great, that as a solo traveler, he took my pictures. We did stop for lunch to recharge, which was not included. What I also liked about this tour was that my tour guide didn't waste my time taking me to souvenir shops where he got a commission. He was gracious and hospitable.
Paul_W, Aug 2023
We had an amazing guide (Adam) he is really hospitable and loves to talk about his country and we really got on well with him. He was at the meeting point and never rushed once, we could take things at a slow pace, eat when we wanted to eat, stop for refreshments when we wanted and it was lovely to get to know him. It was more like meeting a new friend than just having a tour guide. He took us to all the important sites by foot and explained enough information to satisfy our curiosity. I can really recommend this service.
