The tour does include a pick up from any location in Port Elizabeth, Bluewater Bay, Colchester, The Matyholweni Entrance (South Gate) of the Addo Elephant Park and the town of Addo. We are unable to offer a pick up from the following locations: Valley Bushveld Country Lodge, Harmony Luxury Tents & Barefoot Addo Elephant Lodge. A meeting point can be arranged for these locations. Please specify your hotel, guesthouse, backpacker hostel etc. at the time making the reservation. One of our team members will contact you the day before your tour to confirm the exact pick up time

Fabulous day in Addo Nation Park. Sidwell was a wonderful guide, so informative, warm and friendly. He worked really hard to find as many animals as possible and shared what he knew about the animals so well. I also appreciated his Khosa knowledge which he shared a little of with me. A great great day.

Frank, our guide, was very knowledgeable. We were able to see many elephants up close and personal! It turned out to be a private tour since we were the only people on it

Great Experience. Lots of animals in a massive 164,000 hectares (404,851 acres) park. The food at the visitors center is surprisingly good and also very inexpensive. Lots of interesting dishes to choose from.
We say 4 of the big 5. Elephants, African Buffalo, Lions, Rhinoceros. We didn't see leopards but saw many other animals and birds.

We had an outstanding day at Addo with our excellent driver/guide, Sidwell! We arrived in Port Elizabeth by ship which was scheduled to depart at 10pm. We found out the day before that the ship was now leaving at 7pm and we had to be back on board to clear immigration at 6pm. Given the tour timing, we needed to start earlier. I emailed the tour company and got a quick response that we could start at 7:45am and be back by 5pm.
Tour and park were fantastic! We saw LOTS of animals including a male lion, herd of cape buffalo, and hundreds of elephants. We made a restroom stop mid -morning and then had a picnic lunch around 1pm. It was one of the best tour lunches we have ever had! Plus, from the picnic table we could see elephants in the valley below.
Since it's a National Park, you could self-drive, and many people were.
However, Sidwell was in contact with several other drivers to check where we could find certain animals, like the lion. We highly recommend this tour - especially for elephants, which are everywhere!

Sidwell is an extremely good guide. Incredibly knowledgeable about things not directly related to the tour. Learned a lot more about South Africa unrelated to the safari drive.

So many elephants! Unfortunately none of the cats were roaming today so I didn’t get to see any lions or leopards, but I opted for this place over some of the other reserves where the animals were guaranteed so I’ll live with the authentic experience. Knowing the animals were in nature and could potentially be prey or others predators as nature intended beats a guarantee of seeing the animals I want because they’re being hand fed by staff. Incredible experience and I still saw so much more than I could’ve imagined. Elephants, buffalo, monkeys, antelope, jackals, zebra, etc.

What a fantastic day!!! Wanele was knowledgeable, friendly and made sure we saw some awesome animals! I thought we weren't going to see lions, then right as we were about to leave - there he was! I even recorded him roaring and we followed him to the waterhole and got some close up pictures! Just an absolute fabulous day and experience!

John was a fantastic guide for this small group experience, starting with an on-time pick up and a commentary on Port Elizabeth on the way to the camp.
We had an absolutely wonderful day exploring the national park. John was in touch with other guides to get clues about where the animals were - we saw so many animals throughout the day, even lions on a hunt!
Addo is a great place to visit John’s enthusiasm and knowledge made the day even better.
The packed lunch was good too!

AMAZING!!!! Joel, his wife and team were excellent. We were picked up and welcomed straight away. Joel’s knowledge of the NP and animals was amazing, we saw and heard so much. The BBQ they laid on was excellent and the hospitality they shown us was amazing.
I would very highly recommend this trip to everyone and would even do it again.

Seeing lions, elephants, zebras, …. The weather was perfect, very sunny. The explanations of our very kind guide Sidwell where very goods and he took time to do and repeat if asked.

Allen was the best chauffeur for this trip. We got the best of what was to see that day…
The downside was the trip was sold as the big five safari. That was not true, the leopard had not been seen since 2007

A nice safari during which we saw elefants, zebras, buffalos, lions, warthogs, ostrich... We were 6 + driver in a minivan, so there was a good possibility to take pictures to both sides. We also had a nice lunch with out fellow guests.
The driver was nice and helpful. The elefants and zebras you could find close to the van, but the lions were quite far, so I recommend a camera with a long-focus lens if possible (I had a 70-200 and 100-400).
The starting time had changed from 9 to 7.30 am the night before and as we didn't have access to whatsapp then we had missed this info. Fortunatelly we got a phone call at 8.10 to ask where we were.
Hakuna Matata in the end though. :)

All communications prior to tour were very good, prompt and clear.
We were travelling on a cruise ship and found out the night before the tour that our ship was going to arrive in Port Elizabeth later than scheduled. We let them know and they messaged back to say it was ok and they would wait for us at the cruise terminal. Some fellow passengers who had booked with a different company weren't so lucky and missed their tour. Our transport was comfortable and plenty of cold water was provided.
We had a really lovely day in the National Park seeing lots of different wildlife as well as numerous groups of elephants at close range. Our guide was very nice, very informative, drew our attention to lots of things that we wouldn't otherwise have noticed and prepared a very decent lunch including vegetarian options and a variety of drinks. Would definitely recommend them!

Our driver allowed us to open the back door of the minibus in front of buffalo. He let a man leave the vehicle to take a close up of an ostrich. The minibus broke down in front of 3 thankfully sleeping lions resulting in him having to leave the vehicle to attach jump leads. Having restarted the engine after someone towing us uphill he returned to site of lions and then reversed into a vehicle. The overall result left me feeling quite unsafe. I requested a refund and have not received a reply. The driver was very pleasant and tried hard to please us but I am sure he broke park rules.

OUr guide John went above and beyond to help us to see everything we could. The guides were talking amongst themselves to help each other to spot the animals. One was in the west, the other east, and telling oh oh, we saw the lions at such and such a place, we then rushed to see the same thing. Was fabulous, a wonderful day. The ship got in the port late because of the fog, John was waiting for us and we saw everything, lion, elephant, zebra, warthog, turtoise, buffalo, no giraffe or rhino at this park. But WE LOVED IT and the guide was SUPER good, nice and interested that we were happy.

Am Abend vor der geplanten Tour nach Addo hatte man uns per WhatsApp kontaktiert und gesagt das der Guide Sidwell uns um 9 : 00 Uhr am Pier abholt. Wir waren ab 8:30 vor dem Schiff und haben bis 9:30 Uhr zwischen Schiff und den Bussen im Regen nach unserem Guide gesucht. Der Weg ist nur wenige Minuten lang und alle Tourguides die wir angesprochen haben kannten den Guide Sidwell aber niemand hatte ihn gesehen. Kurz vor 10 Uhr hat ein Kollege einer anderen Agentur Mitleid mit uns gehabt und uns in seinem Bus mit 12 Personen mitgenommen. Er sagte er kennt Leigh von Afroventure Safari und Tours die für uns zuständig wären. Mehrmals hat man versucht diese anzurufen aber es kam kein Kontakt zustande. Ja, wir haben Tiere gesehen aber nicht bekommen was wir teuer! gebucht hatten. Kein Mittagessen sondern Picknick und im grossen Bus mit vielen Leuten. Wir sind sehr enttäuscht und traurig.

I am extremely disappointed to read your review as this a very dishonest portrayal of what happened on the day of your safari. Sidwell was waiting at the designated meeting point for you for over 45 minutes and this caused a delay for the rest of the group who had all arrived on time.
All the communication was very clear. Your acknowledgment that you had misread the instructions and gotten into the incorrect vehicle with a different company was not our fault and therefore your request for a refund was rejected.
We pride ourselves in dealing with integrity when handling all guest matters and our excellent track record is proof of this.

Het park is mooi en we hebben ook zeker veel dieren gezien. Maar. De kwaliteit prijs verhouding is onder de maat. Niet afgehaald en teruggebracht van en naar ons hotel. We moesten naar een pick/up punt rijden dat slechts een paar km van de ingang was. Vervolgens moesten we ruim 45 min.mee om nog 2 mensen op te halen bij een guesthouse bovenop een berg. Slingerpad over slecht wegdek. Hier werd ik behoorlijk misselijk van. Vooral omdat de auto ook erg rammelde en een slechte vering bleek te hebben. Onze 9 e Safaritocht, maar dit was de slechtste 4x4 auto en gids. De lunch was redelijk, maar geen Braai. Uitleg en informatie onderweg was matig en slecht verstaanbaar. De gids was vooral veel in gesprek met de buurvrouw die naast hem zat. Kortom voor de helft van deze prijs hebben we betere dag safari’s gehad waarbij we wel voor de deur opgehaald werden. Balen dat we de Safari niet elders geboekt hadden.

With regards to the matters your raised, we are unfortunately only able to offer a pick up and drop off service within a set radius. The greater conservation area is very large and this is the only way to manage the driving times. We did experience a huge amount of rainfall in the days prior to your safari and this led to the roads being damaged and all travel times delayed.
Our vehicles are meticulously maintained and with the type of terrain we sometimes have to endure there can be some discomfort that is beyond our control. With regards to lunch, we do not advertise nor do we state at any point that we provide a "braai" lunch. We provide a picnic style lunch in order to maximize our game viewing times and cover as much of the National Park as possible.
I have addressed the issues raised with your guide directly and he apologizes for this.

Super Ausflug mit einem super Guide. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt voll augenutzt. Wir wurden frühs kurz nach dem Anlegen direkt am Schiff abgeholt und Abends kurz vorm Ablegen wieder am Schiff abgeliefert. SAind den ganzen Tag in Land Cruiser durch den Park gefahren und haben eine vielzahl von Tieren gesehen. Auch das Mittagessen in einer Lodge mitten im Park war super.
Würden den Ausflug sofort nochmal machen.
