We booked the Kolam class and a Sound and healing session. Both were well run with very knowledgeable instructors who put everyone at ease. We are on holiday from the UK and the Sita cultural centre has helped us learn more about the local culture and community. Well done for the great selection of classes provided

Fun and educational Kolam Class

James_T, Nov 2022
We thoroughly enjoyed the Kolam class conducted by Lakshmi - she was full of passion and enthusiasm for her culture and the traditional crafts, which kept us engaged. Through the sharing of her growing up years, we came to have to have better understanding of why the women beautify their houses with kolams, and the different styles and techniques used to design them. It may look easy , but it certainly took much trying to draw a straight even thin line using sand. Hats off to those women who design using dots and looping lines. Admin wise, Lakshmi whatsapped me to confirm the address and timing of the class, which is something as a tourist, I appreciate so that we are assured that the class is going ahead. Sita Cultural Center is located in a beautiful teal blue house - ask Lakshmi to explain how the house keeps cool in summer and warm in winter!
