Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields

8:00 AM DEPARTURE: we will pick you up from your hotel/hostel (our staff will confirm the pick up time with you. If your hotel is not within our pick up zone (due to traffic condition of Phnom Penh), you will be advised by our staff to go to a pick up point for pick up, may be at the Night Market (please wait under the main signage) or a hotel. If your hotel or hostel is not located near or in the areas mentioned below, please come to the Night Market for pick-up. We will then pick up guests from other hotels or hostels located near Riverside, Central Market, Royal Palace, and in the BKK and Kirrirom districts. The tour will commence once all hotel pick-ups are complete. The first site to visit is Prison S21 (Genocide Museum), where you will have 80 minutes to explore. After the museum visit, please wait near the ticket office for pick up, then we will proceed to the Killing Fields, which is 15 km south of Phnom Penh and takes about 30 minutes to reach. You will have 75 minutes at the Killing Fields. We will leave Killing Fields around 12:30 PM and be back to Night Market about 1:30pm. If you wish to visit Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda in the afternoon, we will drop you off near Royal Palace at the riverfront. The tour will be considered complete. You can enjoy lunch at the riverfront before visiting the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda (open from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM). After that, you are free to explore on your own, perhaps strolling along the riverside promenade to the Night Market, where you can embark on a sunset cruise starting at 5:00 PM and then do some souvenir shopping (the Night Market is open daily until 11:00 PM). You will need to arrange your own transportation back to your hotel. If you prefer not to visit the Royal Palace, we can drop you off directly at your hotel or hostel.

You will have 75 minutes to explore the Killing Fields. We will then drive back to the city to visit the second site, Prison S21 (Genocide Museum), where you will have 80 minutes to visit. When you finish the visit of the prison, please wait near the ticket office for pick up. If you wish to visit Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda in the afternoon, we will drop you off at Royal Palace, The tour will be considered complete. The Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda are open from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. After that, you are free to explore on your own, perhaps strolling along the riverside promenade to the Night Market, where you can embark on a sunset cruise or dinner cruise starting at 5:00 PM, and then do some souvenir shopping (the Night Market is open daily until 11:00 PM). There are three options for visiting Prison S21: 1.Audio Guide ($5): Rent an audio guide with interviews, detailed explanations, and availability in 14 languages (English, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands, Italiano, Español, Pусский, Svenska, 中文, แบบไทย, 한국인, 日本語, Melayu, Tiếng, Việt ). It provides comprehensive insights into the exhibits and the history of the Khmer Rouge regime. 2.Live Guide ($3-$5): Hire an in-house live guide for a more interactive experience. A live guide offers detailed knowledge, answers questions, and shares personal stories to enhance your visit. Live guide service is only in English. 3.Self-Guided: Explore the museum on your own with plenty of written information, including placards and signage. This option allows you to move at your own pace and focus on areas of interest. Regarding the audio guide at the prison, there are two versions available: the Highlight version and the Long version. The Highlight version, marked in red on the guide map, lasts approximately 60 minutes. We recommend this version for those participating in our tour. The Long version, which lasts about 120 minutes, is more suitable for private tours. If you wish to delve deeper into the history of the Khmer Rouge and spend more time at the museum, a private tour is recommended. When renting the audio guide, please begin your tour promptly and maintain a steady pace between stops. Avoid spending excessive time at any one stop to ensure you complete the tour within the allocated time. Return to the bus at the time specified by the bus attendant. You will have approximately 80 minutes to visit the museum, which most visitors find sufficient. If you feel you need more time, we suggest opting for a private tour instead.
