We waited over an hour for our driver and no one could confirm where he was or how much longer we were going to have to wait so we were not able to get our personal tour and are requesting a refund

We had an absolute amazing time! My husband and I wanted something that was low key and showed us the entire island. This did not disappoint. Diederick was a fantastic host that welcomed us and gave us more information for the day. That said, Ricky, the tour guide, was an absolute rock star! We got to see the entire island, stop at local spots for food, and was even able to see some “off the beaten” paths he recommended. We will be back in October and look forward to booking another tour with them. This was a 10 out of 10 to be honest. My husband and I are an LGBT couple and we felt incredibly welcomed and comfortable. We highly recommend and cannot wait till next time. Thank you Diederick and Ricky! (Ps - The Rum Punch is out of this world!)

We had a great time in St Maarten. I'm glad I took my family on a private tour since we don't have to rush our day. Our guide, Rickey, really went out of his way to show us the whole island, both the French side and the Dutch side. We also had a beautiful lunch in one of the local beaches. Thank you Candice and Rickey for a wonderful experience

We took our tour through Diederick SXM Tours. I would highly recommend this group and in particular our tour guide Ricky. We wanted to know some history of the island as well as some scenic highlights. He took us to places off the beaten path, told history of the island, the struggles to rebuild after the recent hurricane, and took us to a local place for lunch. He was very courteous and entertaining a well as informative and at the end of the day we felt like we had made a new friend. Again highly recommended. Some highlights were Grand Case, Fort Louis, Orient Beach, Scooby’s for lunch, and the town of Marigot.

When booking our trip to St. Maarten, I was in charge of the activities. As New Yorkers and coming from the land who invented social distancing, we only wanted private tours AWAY from people.
Well, I decided to book a private island tour. Diederick communicated with me several times as to what and what we did not want to see. When and where to stop for lunch etc.
Then, the day of the tour.
Diederick and his beautiful wife Candia come to pick us up. They work very well together like peanut butter and jelly.
Diederick, is extremely knowledgeable of all things St Maarten. He explained all of the history of the French and Dutch side. He also explained all of the plants, trees and uses for them as well. He also brought us to local beaches that are off the beaten track.
I had wanted to stop for lunch at a certain place but it was close. Well, we found an unexpected gem. If local people like it, it must be good. I had terrific conch fritters.
Candia seeing I was disabled, took special care of me helping me. I really appreciate all they did for us.
We could have had a free tour from our hotel but I would have never had the pleasure of meeting Diederick and Candia.

Visiting this Island from a Cruise Ship - wanted to maximize the time and not miss out seeing both the French and Dutch Sides.Ronald our excellent driver could not have been more accommodating, with a good knowledge of the areas and beaches to visit. You can determine your own time schedule at every stop,Would definitely recommend this option.Side note: although the passenger van was not the newest model on the market,The guide more than compensated .

I'm so glad we went with a private tour for our family of 5! Much better experience seeing the island the way we wanted to see it plus the added bonus of having the guide's complete attention when we had questions about things. We told our guide there were 2 things we HAD to do but after that we left it in his hands! He did such a great job showing us things we wouldn't have known about! I will definitely consider doing private tours again in the future since I felt I got my money's worth compared to cruise excursions we've done for about the same price but felt cheated.

We had a great time seeing the island from a residents perspective. It is sad to see such a beautiful island still trying to recover from two major hurricanes but the people who live there are determined to make it happen. Paul was great! If his van can be spruced up just a bit we would have given it a 5!

We toured the island plus got to spend a few hours on the beach. The guide was on time and had a planned out itinerary for the day. Although we changed it up some to allow for more beach time.

BOOK THIS TOUR!!! This was the best day of our entire cruise vacation! Paul, our driver and guide, was excellent! He was waiting with a clean van with a cooler filled with juice, snacks and water for our kids and a few drinks for the adults. He gave us detailed stories and history of the island throughout the drive. He specifically chose a beach for us that would be suitable for our young children and included stops to feed TONS of iguanas and one to hold live sea urchins and conchs.
Paul was very personable and sweet with out children. He drove slowly and carefully, always giving us a heads up for a good photo op. We learned so much about the differences between with the French and Dutch sides of the island and left with a better understanding of the culture and deepened appreciation for the beauty of the landscape. Learning about the people, economy, history of slavery and rice/salt export really made us feel like we know the island. We saw almost everything we had planned on only missed a couple things bc of time and never felt overtly touristy because we traveled on our own. The flexibility of being on our own allowed us to stay as long as we wanted at each place. Only caveat, if you're not into creole/heavily seasoned food, request a different restaurant. The one we went to that I think they have a deal with was a bit much for us and was more expensive than we'd prefer.
The best part of this tour was leaving with a feeling of contentment and relaxation. We felt like it was well worth the money spent and really appreciated how much individual attention our kids got from Paul. He helped us carry them, showed them cool things and made sure they felt safe and happy. Paul customized our tour to our preferences and made our day in St. Maarten/St. Martin unforgettable! It was a perfect family day. If we were a a group of adults looking to party, I know he would've brought us to the exciting beach and some great bars. We want to go back already!
