We had a very pleasant drive round Kuala Lumpur with Shah. It is a most impressive and interesting city. He is very knowledgeable not just about the major landmarks of the city but also the political and economic landscape of Malaysia. He was able to answer all our questions and shared his extensive knowledge of the country’s history in an easily understandable way.

Excellent full day in Kuala Lumpa. Our guide was knowledgable and friendly throughout. We took in lots of interesting sites at our own pace. The guide was flexible and willing to wait for us. He took us to a nice Malaysian restaurant for lunch to break up the day. Definitely recommend to other travellers.

Great Tour

Sean_T, Mar 2026
Travel from the port is about an hour and travel around the city can be slow with congestion so pick your destinations accordingly

Highly recommend this tour

Andy_A, Mar 2026
This tour of Kuala Lumpur was exactly what we were looking for. Our tour guide Zul spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about Kuala Lumpur history and culture. This tour hit all the high points we were looking to see and Zul was one of the best tour guides we have had in a while. Our driver was Rajan, and he did an excellent job of getting us safely through all the Kuala Lumpur traffic, and finding better routes when there were and traffic jams. I highly recommend this tour.

Outstanding excursion with fantastic guide!

Steve_F, Mar 2026
Kumar was a wonderful, informative, helpful, friendly, very audible driver advisor and guide. He really helped maximize our time and experience!

The Fab Four in KL

John_D, Feb 2026
It is travel to and within a big city. Nothing happens quickly despite the excellent effort of driver and guide. Petronas towers well worth a visit and reasonably close to other significant sites. One hour minimum from port Klang to city centre.

Terrible guide and very disappointing day.

NormanR_W, Feb 2026
This was a big disappointment as our guide was more a chauffeur than a guide. Worse was we couldn’t understand what he said which was practically nothing. The vehicle was more a public transport than a tour bus. To top it off he took us to a 3rd class filthy restaurant of which our 3 groups on the tour did not eat for fear of getting sick.

Not good tour

Fernando_L, Feb 2026
The guide didn’t speak enough English to understand him, the meal was bad very cheap and not very clean place, also there was not enough time for what was advertised. The guide limited to drive no explanation or description of the places visited

Unfortunately the port of call was canceled

Carolyn_W, Feb 2026
Unfortunately, the ship canceled its stop in KL an hour after I made the reservation. I reached out to the tour company/Viator to inquire about cancelation, refund, or if I could use the cost on another tour in a different port of call. I sent 2 inquiries yesterday and another today. I have not received a response... even one that states "no" as an answer. I would have been appreciated if at least a response was issued.

A varied excursion

Eckhard_T, Feb 2026
We saw the palace, climbed the 272 stairs of the Batu Caves. This was a strenuous experience, been in a Batik factory, took our Lunch in the Petronas Twin Towers. Afterwards we've been to the Independence place and a War Memorial. All was good and our guide made detailed explanations. We only missed Little India.

Excellent

Karim_K, Feb 2026
Was lots of fun our driver Indian was very good and took good care of us Only thing if you want to go up the twin towers make sure you buy your tickets 1-2 days in advance

Good visit to KL

ALAIN_D, Jan 2026
With this tour you can see main spots of the city in a short time. We liked it and sure we recommend it

Great experience seeing...

Jarod_S, Jan 2026
Great experience seeing all the tourist attractions in a few hours! Henry was very knowledgeable and funny!

Not enough time

Herbert_Y, Dec 2025
Not enough time to see Kuala Lumpur in a day. This tour is not suited for cruise passengers since most of the time spent are traveling to the city and not enough time to enjoy the city, unfortunately.

All of the attractions...

Tim_V, Nov 2025
All of the attractions are centrally located.. Driver was very receptive to our schedule. He was also very knowledgeable about tour stops.

Great Value for a great tour

ShelleyFulton, Apr 2025
A great experience. Our driver was knowledgeable and great to talk to. We were picked up on time and delivered back to the ship with time to spare.

Take a cab instead of the tour

Sidney_V, Mar 2025
Very disappointed. We were communicating with appeared to be two different people for the pick up point. There was no one holding a sign with our names or that they were with the tour company. We waited for about 20 minutes in front of the cruise terminal where many other tour operators had signs but none were ours. We asked the taxi operator if he could call the phone number we had and he did. The guy was just existing the cruise port. He got him to turn around and even then we had no idea where he was. He called the taxi guy that called him and the taxi guy showed him where we were standing. Next he didn’t speak English and told us nothing about the city or the places we were going to, he just dropped us off at the gates or in the middle of the street and gave us a time to meet him back there. We could have done without the lunch as there were no clean facilities to wash your hands, they rinsed off the banana leaves in their no so clean water after each use. The places we saw were great but if that’s all we wanted we could have taken a cab for much less.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you for your honest feedback. We're very sorry to hear about the confusion with the pickup and the lack of communication from your guide. This is certainly not the experience we want for our guests. We understand how frustrating it must have been to navigate these issues, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. Your comments regarding the lunch facilities and overall value are also noted, and we will be addressing these concerns with our team to improve future experiences. We truly appreciate your input and will work on ensuring a smoother and more informative tour for our guests moving forward.

Great way to see KL

robert_s, Mar 2025
Fantastic way to see KL. We were.picked up at cruise terminal and spent the day touring KL. Started with Batu Caves and walked up the 272 steps to the temple. Visited a batik store with demonstrations of the process included. The visit to the pewter factory was excellent and informative with the history and artefacts. Lunch was included and we had a choice so went to a market place with many food choices. Our guide helped explain the options and made our purchase. We then went for a walk to the confluence of the 2 rivers where KL was founded and the area of British settlement. The final stop was to view Petronis towers and get some pictures. Thank you Reuben for making our day. Reuben was well informed, made the trip comfortable and memorable. The only criticism is the car was on the small side for a 4 person tour.

More sightseeing tours

Rosalina_A, Feb 2025
This was given as a 2nd option since I 1st one booked was cancelled by tour operator at the last minute otherwise they requested for additional $120 charge. I believed the pewter factor tour was unnecessary and should not be included in the tour. We looked for sightseeing tour and missed the observation deck of the twin towers.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the last-minute change to your original booking and any inconvenience it caused. We understand that the pewter factory tour may not have been of interest to you, and we appreciate your input on the itinerary. Your comments will help us improve our tour offerings to better match our guests' expectations. If there's anything we can do to make this right, please feel free to reach out to us directly.

Great Tour Guide

wendy_b, Feb 2025
INDRAN was a fantastic driver and guide. His local and historical knowledge was very interesting! Appreciative of the British ancestry and how influential the British were in founding the country. Loved it! The only thug we didn’t really enjoy was lunch…. A local cafe, food not great. Jelly belly’s next day 🥴

Tour not as advertised ,disappointed

susan_g, Jan 2025
I booked this trip as it had good reviews but it started badly and never really recovered Four of us had one tour booked starting at 09:00 and it turned out that 4 had a different titled tour starting at 08:00 .. consequently when my friend and I turned up at 08:40 the driver was grumbling and saying that he’d been waiting ages. We didn’t have a commentary. More of a taxi ride followed by being pointed towards building and told when to come back We arrived at the Batu caves after about an hour and an half drive - traffic was bad. We were then told we had 20 minutes and could only take photos outside. ( presumably because we left 40 minutes later than the driver expected) . Everyone was disappointed. We then went to a Batic factory which I found interesting and then the Royal Selangor pewter factory which I also thought was great ( others on the tour were still unhappy about not going into the caves ) We then went to lunch .. after going around the block 3 times trying to park the driver stopped and pointed us in the direction of a grubby looking restaurant with rows of Formica topped tables. Eventually we were offered chicken or beef and rice and a bottle of water . Served on plates not banana leaves as advertised. We had to ask for cutlery and find napkins . Afterwards we had to message our driver to pick us up- think he’d been driving around waiting As we wanted to be back on the ship for 4pm the driver said he would drive us around the city for 30 minutes before returning us to the ship. We asked to go to the Petronas towers which , together with the caves was the main highlights of this particular tour. he rather begrudgingly did this We arrived back at about 3:30 pm So to summarise- - I enjoyed seeing the outside of the caves but would have preferred to have gone in - the Batik factory was lovely as was the pewter factory. - lunch was abysmal - the Petronas towers were good to see .. even if just for 20 mins

Response from Host, Jan 2025

Dear Susan, Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback on your recent experience. We’re truly sorry that your tour did not meet your expectations, and we appreciate you sharing both the positives and the areas where we fell short. It’s clear there was a miscommunication about the tour start times, and we apologize for the resulting confusion and delay. We understand how frustrating this must have been, and we will review our booking and communication processes to ensure such mix-ups do not happen in the future. We’re also disappointed to hear that the commentary and overall guidance during the tour did not meet your expectations. Providing engaging and informative experiences is something we take pride in, and we’ll address this with our team to ensure drivers are better prepared to enhance the overall experience for our guests. Regarding the Batu Caves, we regret that the allocated time was insufficient for a full visit. The caves are a significant highlight of the tour, and we understand your disappointment in not being able to explore them properly. Similarly, we’re sorry that the lunch experience did not live up to the advertised standard. Your description of the restaurant and meal does not align with what we strive to offer, and we’ll address this with our partners to improve the dining experience. On a more positive note, we’re glad you enjoyed the Batik and pewter factories, as well as the opportunity to see the Petronas Towers, even if it was brief. However, we acknowledge that these highlights should have been better planned and executed to provide a more fulfilling experience. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our tours, and we sincerely apologize for the shortcomings you encountered. We hope you might consider giving us another opportunity in the future to provide you with the high-quality experience you deserve. Safe travels!

great value great tour

Kathleen_G, Jan 2025
great driver/guide found us (4) where the shuttles from the ship dropped us off, after he went to the regular pick up point. If it wasn't for him, we wouldn't have had the tour. Thank you Raj!!!!! Gave us plenty of time at stops for pics, great lunch at a local place. Great value for price!! Definately go with Viator again!! And to the lady on the phone, thank you for not getting mad when I couldn't hear you for all the noise and being so polite!!!!!!

Great trip for Kuala lumpur

Janice_E, Mar 2024
Matha and co-captain picked us up at the port. It’s important since this trip is advertised for cruise ship passengers to know which port you are docking at and verify. We enjoyed our day and did almost everything we expected to do. They stayed with us until the shuttle bus left to go back to the ship which was very nice. K.L is far and the caves even further with lots of traffic. important for cruise ship passenger’s to know: Know which port your ship is going to and verify last minute. We ended up at the cargo port and couldn’t get out and our guide wasn’t allowed in. Took over an hour to get permission to stop at the port security gate and drop us off. K.L is about an hour from the port and there is traffic. The Batu caves are even further so you get pretty far away from the ship.

Disappointed

Pamela_G, Mar 2024
Our day started well, as we were met from the first shuttle bus, at the port gate by Fauzi, our driver and guide for the day, who was holding a very clear sign displaying my name. We were quickly on our way to Kuala Lumpur, in his clean, comfortable air conditioned car. Fauzi talked and clearly explained many aspects throughout the day about the city, the country and the way of life for residents in Malaysia. We learned a lot. He was very good and interesting. Although the traffic was busy, we were able to see the King’s Palace, Batu Caves and visit a batik factory in the morning. It was lunchtime when the problem began. The Chinese restaurant booked by the company were not willing to serve on arrival just the two of us on one of their circular tables, as it was set up ready for sharing plates on tables for ten. We needed to wait at least for the next group of five to arrive. We waited at least 20 minutes and then the seven of us all sat together on a table for ten. We did not receive any communication or service at all from anyone in the restaurant. Time ticked by and it was obvious we were not going to be served and so after 45 minutes with no food, the group of seven of us decided to leave. The two drivers were not able to resolve the situation with the restaurant , although our drivers did then book another restaurant. Having been there without any food, none of us wanted to waste any more time, as we only had a few hours in port and there were sights we still wanted to visit in Kuala Lumpur. Fauzi explained that this restaurant had not been used by the company for a long time and of course, this was very unfortunate for us. We feel that we paid far too much money for the Viator trip, particularly when we didn’t receive a lunch. We have been satisfied with previous bookings but will need to think carefully about booking any future trips. Certainly, our driver was not to blame for the restaurant booking. He was not happy with the restaurant situation. We look forward to hearing from you about this matter.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Dear Pamela, Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback about your day trip to Kuala Lumpur. We are genuinely sorry to hear about the inconvenience you faced during lunch, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. It's heartening to know that your day started well with Fauzi as your guide. We strive to provide informative and enjoyable experiences, and we are pleased that Fauzi's knowledge added value to your trip. However, we sincerely apologize for the unexpected issue at the Chinese restaurant, which led to an unsatisfactory lunch experience. Your description of the situation is concerning, and we understand the frustration it must have caused. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused during your limited time in port. Rest assured, we take your feedback seriously, and we are investigating the matter to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. We appreciate your understanding of Fauzi's efforts to find an alternative restaurant promptly. Once again, we sincerely apologize for the lapse in service and the inconvenience you faced. We value your feedback as it helps us improve our offerings and ensure a better experience for our future guests. Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust in the future. Safe travels!

Highly recommended

Maria_S, Feb 2024
The guide was very friendly and helpful. He was flexible in what the group wanted to do and also was very good managing the time.

Excellent day in Kuala Lumpur

Bernard_S, Feb 2024
Our guide Zu was excellent, very knowledgeable and well organised. We had a full day visiting a number of very interesting sights and we returned to our cruise ship in a timely manner which was great. The included lunch was very comprehensive with a wide variety of Malayasian dishes to share.

Temple Tours in Bangkok

Ross_D, Feb 2024
Laem Chabang (Bangkok). Private tour into Bangkok. Over 2 hours one way into the city. Thailand King - is King Rama X (2016) … Somdet Phra Boromma-orasathirat Chao Fa Maha Vajiralongkorn Sayammakutratchakuma Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun … pictures everywhere. First stop Reclining Buddha (Wat Arun). Very peaceful. Lunch at old city restaurant. Sandra tried “Chrysanthemum Tea”, I had a Singha beer. Next Wat Raimit (Gold Buddha) over 2 tons of gold leaf. HOT. Alice our guide (very helpful with Sandra) got us into the very tall temple using the monk’s entry. Jade Buddha & Grand Palace. The Jade Buddha is the most revered statue in Thailand. Had to remove shoes, and silence was expected. No pictures. Several monks were in the temple house with their praying mantra. Incredibly serene and peaceful. Grand Palace was - very grand. King Rama and his family only stay in the palace for official business. No time for Damneon Floating market or a longtail punt ride. Disappointed.

Great day out in KL

julieandKevin_C, Feb 2024
We had a brilliant day out. Our driver Al was very accommodating and made sure the day was organised around the places we had brought tickets for, such as the Petronas Towers. The lunch was great also, and exceeded expectations

Shockingly Awful

Warren_G, Jan 2024
From the first till last this trip was not what we expected - it was an awful experience! Poorly organised which began with the message to meet at 815am - 8 of us turned up but the rep and bus didn’t ! Then add in that 11 other guests failed to turn up left us floundering in 70degs of heat . The rep appeared to be making calls on his phone even telling us the missing 11 were coming from the ship which was a mere 5 minute stroll - ultimately at 0915 the rep was forced to head off with just the 8 of us on a 44 seater coach. Stuck in traffic we made our way to Batu Caves and given just 30 mins before leaving this should have been an hour at the very least. We missed out on other locations to visit with a 10 min photo shoot at Petronas Tower, a quick curry stop for lunch then the last location at independence square before heading back to our ship - the trip was not worth the money and is poorly advertised - in fact viatour should have the decency to refund 50% of the costs as an act of generosity

Response from Host, Jan 2024

Dear Warren, We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and frustration you experienced during your recent trip with us. Your feedback is invaluable, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. We are truly sorry for the initial inconvenience caused by the delay and this is certainly not the level of service we aspire to provide. Upon investigation, it was a massive traffic jam from the highway toward the cruise terminal that caused the delay. We did not want this to happen to any of our guests but car accident can happen in this part of busy port area that will cause a terrible traffic jam. The limited time allocated for Batu Caves and other attractions is regrettable, and we understand that it impacted your overall experience. We acknowledge the importance of providing ample time at each destination to allow our guests to fully enjoy and explore the attractions. We will review our itineraries and make necessary adjustments to ensure a more balanced and fulfilling experience for our customers. We understand your dissatisfaction with the value for money, and we genuinely regret that the tour did not meet your expectations. We will thoroughly review our advertising and promotional materials to ensure that they accurately represent the tour experience. Your feedback is crucial in helping us enhance our services, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. If you have any further details to share or if you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please feel free to reach out to our customer support team directly. Once again, we apologize for any disappointment, and we hope to have the opportunity to make it right for you in the future. Safe travels!

Must do trip of Kuala Lumpa

Angie_C, Jan 2024
Great day being picked up from port, then off to the caves and pewter factory which was very interesting. Then we had lunch which was a buffet and delish something for everybody. Then we did a stop at the Petronas Towers and a quick stop at the Palace where we just missed the King! The company were very communicative, explained where we were being pucked up from tickets arrived on time and were a pleasure to deal with.our guide was exceptional, knowledgeable and made our trip.
