See Tripadvisor Reviews. Tour described elsewhere. I could not upload photos here. Tour itself was great

Very interesting tour with a knowledgeable guide - Karyan took us around some interesting parts of the city, not just medieval history. A worth while addition to just entry to the Castile.

I really enjoyed the walking tour and I would highly recommend it to people looking to learn about Newcastle’s history and see different parts of the city. It’s a fun way of spending a couple of hours and the guide Olivia was superb in sharing her knowledge and providing lots of facts and anecdotes. She made the tour a great experience!

Interesting and guide keen to answer any questions. Good to have the entrance to the castle included in the price.

Thomas gave us a wonderful morning history lesson--so enjoyable, knowledgeable and witty! Perfect length, too.

Great medieval tour of the city. Lots of interesting stories, facts and things to see. The tour guide was engaging and had lots of hidden jems. We got recommendations for great pubs and restaurants by walking around.

Olivia, an archaeologist who actually works at the Newcastle Keep, led our tour of the central historical sites. If you have a love of history, this tour is for you, covering the religious and secular historical sites and events of Newcastle.
Olivia has stories and details from across the Newcastle centuries, from the Romans, and Rufus, to the early days of football, to the execution of witches, and the transformations of places and buildings over time. We finished at the Keep, and it was wonderful to explore the tall confines of the rooms and stairs of that fortress right out of D&D.

Great tour with a very knowlegdeable guide. Olivia knew her stuff. And now I know the connection beetween Bigg and the Icelandic word Bygg (barley). Recommend the tour and also some fine dining at The Blackfriar restaurant for history buffs.

I got to see so much of Newcastle that I would never have experienced or even know about without the tour. The castle tour (included in the price) was amazing as well… best view of the city from the top!
Damian was super knowledgeable and well prepared. You could tell he loves sharing his city’s history and his storytelling style made the experience even better.
Warning… this tour involves a lot of walking as well as steep hills and stairs. I loved it but there may be some who would prefer a less physically demanding course.

Our guide was very informative and made an already interesting (to us anyway!) topic very enjoyable. I’ll never forget the importance of a gong farmer!

Ben is an entertaining informative guide who freely admits to not knowing everything. However approximate dates are quite good enough in this context. He provides lots of information about other aspects of the city too.

Very good and knowledge guide- Thomas- who made it a great tour. I knew almost nothing about the history of this area beforehand and Thomas explained the history very clearly. I had read about Matilda and the White Ship, the tour put that piece of history into context- as well as everything else which was covered.

The guide, Daniel, he was so enthusiastic about the history and this made his commentary and stories very interesting and informative. He’d readily answered my many questions with good knowledge and it did not appear to be too much trouble for his to answer. Brilliant tour and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting or indeed local people.
