SUNRISE AT THE TAJ-MINDBLOWINGLY WORTHWHILE...........

Seeing the Taj Mahal for the first time, at sunrise, when there were only crows, squirrels, and a handful of tourists to contend with, was exhilarating. The guide, Noor, had seemed to have already had his morning fix of energy, passion and motivation. He proceeded to take many pictures using my phone, from all the ideal vantage points, relieving me from any of these difficult chores, was knowledgeable and passionate about everything he spoke about, and kept the pace lively and flowing throughout the tour. He was also able to renegotiate an existing photographic deal, he assisted in making for me, with a local cameraman, that was outrageously expensive, to begin with, but i was still mentally in first gear at 6am, and was also generous enough to remain patient due to the Ramadan festival, whilst i ate breakfast. His interesting conversations about local life, and his family, allowed me to envelop myself into the culture and lifestyle more, which made this trip ever so realistic, therefore recommending Noor, for commendation is an absolute given-just make sure you are ready and caffeined up, as this tour moves quickly to stay one step ahead of the pack. A big shout out to the driver, Prim, who made a double round trip from Agra to collect me in Delhi, at 2.30 am, and go to the Taj, then drop me back into town, before doing another 6 hour run in peak hour gridlock, to his home again in Agra-a dedicated, safe and courteous driver with plenty of patience, with a pleasant personality, whose family conversations with me resonated warmly on our final journey home, and he needs to be highly recommended. Well worth doing this tour for the 2 people involved, and the never to forget scenic view of the Taj Mahal and the Fort.

Yes it's an early start and a long drive from Delhi but to get there before the crowds is so worth it. Maybe 100 people around while I was there compared to the thousands that arrive later. Robin was an excellent guide also.
