    Our tour guide will be standing at The Alvin York Statue at the Tennessee State Capitol at 553 Charlotte Ave. The statue is a figure of a man holding a musket. Wheelchair Accessibility Access Point: Access ramp on the opposite side of the Capitol Building.

Itinerary

While other tourists take shelter in the concert halls, you’ll spend your night in Nashville learning about its dark, disturbing past. This 90-minute ghost tour through Music City starts at the Alvin York Statue in front of the Tennessee State Capitol where your guide awaits.

Civil War haunts are on the itinerary first, followed by a stop at the Wilcox Building where a dashing doctor mysteriously had multiple female patients meet an early end. Stroll through Printers Alley, The Climax Saloon, and the Maxwell House Hotel where mobs, murders, hauntings, brothels, and more filled Nashville’s history books with bloody tales.

The tour ends at the Maxwell House Hotel and you’ll never be able to see seemingly safe places like Hard Rock Cafe and the Ernest Tubb Record Shop the same again.

Informative interesting and enjoyable. But not as hyped as reviews. For it to be adults only it was very PG. The guide was lovely but very scripted. with vital details. Yes, she knew facts But when questioned she was thrown off because she did not know answers. Not too much personality in the delivery of the stories. Walking from place to place was Quiet.

This is a history tour, not a ghost tour!

I’ve done ghost tours in many cities and this was the worst. I felt like I signed up for a full blown History of Nashville tour! The time spent at the Capital Building was incredibly boring and WAY too many steps to climb! The paranormal activity details were just a small spec of the in depth stories the guide would tell. It was as though we were being taught a ton of history and then “occasionally a shadow is seen darting in the trees…now onto the next stop”. Most tours give a cliff notes version of the history and go into depth with paranormal activity- even have little booklets with pictures of a hotel window and an orb or shadow resembling the activity there, newspaper articles, etc. We ended up parting from the tour once we got to the Dream hotel. Couldn’t bear listening to it any longer. Again, if a history tour is your thing, this is for you. If you want a true ghost tour…this isn’t it. And if you aren’t in shape to walk tons and tons of stairs to the capital- don’t book this tour! I am in shape and those that weren’t really struggled.

Trevor was a gentleman and a scholar and his passion and knowledge about Nashville history made me almost forget how cold it was outside. Particularly enjoyed the bits about history and ghost sightings related to the Civil War and government buildings. I would recommend taking this tour.

Ghost Tales of Inaccurate History

It was cold out and our guide did his best, but if we are going to stand for 20 minutes and listen about tales of President Jackson and Polk, perhaps there should be a better historical account of the type of men they were. Jackson “Trail of Tears” profiteered from the worst of slavery and displacement of Native Americans as did Polk. Truly, it’s not a “ghost tour” as we the discussions were primarily around those Presidents, Strickland (architect) and the suffragettes (please remember their names… Stanton and Mott). If my kids are joining these tours, I really prefer a balance versus “tough, good Christian men.” Not sure it was the guide’s fault but rather the company which creates their narrative.

This was by far the worst activity we did in Nashville and also the worst night time walking tour I have ever taken. I have done a few night walking tours in other cities, and I understand the idea behind the tours can change, ie Haunted stories vs Ghosts vs True Crime etc etc. My issue was the guide himself. He had far too much dramatic flair in everything he said and yelled so you never knew where the highlight of the story was. He spoke far to quickly and was very difficult to understand and follow in his story telling. (English is my 1st language so this is not language issue) His main points seemed to be a few odd things happening over decades so "they" decided "it" was enough to be considered Ghostly. I didn't hear of any specific Murder Stories or any of these murdered individuals specifically haunting anyone. All we needed was a few well told stories around some old monuments around town - He managed to alienate his group rather than pull us in with his stories. We left the group with 1 or 2 more stops still to go, but by then he had already lost 5 others before us. I would warn against this tour as a result of the bad experience we had with our Guide. I would certainly take a different tour if I were back - but NOT this one. I prefer one with some character - not someone jabbering through his speech so fast it's incoherent. A full refund for the 3 tickets would make me feel slightly better, just still disappointed we missed out on a fun night. We almost joined a different tour group who passed us because they were all having a great tour.

Our tour guide was wonderfully knowledgeable about the city and its history. He was also very personable and took his time to keep everyone safe and engaged in his presentation. We received a surprise visit from a local drunk and our guide was very professional and knew exactly what to do.

There was a lot of history and a lot of murder! I loved this tour. Steven was awesome. We try and go on a ghost/murder tour every city we go to and this was one of the best. I highly recommend this tour if you're in Nashville.

Tour was good but…meeting point address is not correct. We drove all over in a Uber looking for the tour group. It was after dark and was not impressed to say the least! The stars are only two because of this.

This gave me a little bit more in depth about the night life and some famous names which was super interesting due to the Civil War compared to the hop-on tour bus I did the first day. I highly recommend women and people in general have a safe way to walk home at night because you will be walking back completely alone if you don't have a chaperone.
