Our driver was knowledgeable and worked with us on our itinerary. Mycenae and Epidaurus were awesome sites to visit!

The description of this activity is quite misleading. This is not a tour, and it's in fact an overpriced taxi service.
Even though the description claims you'll be "guided" and the driver is an "expert", you will in fact do the activities on your own, and the information we received from our driver going from one site to another was often factually incorrect or completely irrelevant. What you're paying 200/person for is to be driven to 2 sites, which is a huge markup.
This was such a disappointing waste of the one day we had in Mycenae that we asked for a refund.

However, we would like to clarify a few important points for future travelers. Our listing clearly states that this is a private experience hosted by a local guide, not a licensed tourist guide. The experience was delivered exactly as described in the booking.
Transportation was provided in a private Mercedes Vito van, not by taxi. Your entrance tickets were included and issued as advertised, and you were also provided with printed historical information and a map of the archaeological sites to enhance your visit.
After the experience had been completed, you requested a full refund, even though all services had been provided as described in the booking. While we fully respect every guest's right to share their opinion, we believe that several statements in this review do not accurately reflect the services that were actually provided.
We remain committed to offering high-quality private experiences and encourage all future guests to carefully review the activity description before booking to ensure it matches their expectations.

This tour essentially consisted of a car ride from Nafplio to these two sights with a driver and a non-licensed guide (as described in advance) who was a native of the United States. We chatted with her about why she moved to Greece and her life there for the last 25 years and that was interesting. There was some discussion about the sights we were going to see on the tour but that commentary was minimal. The sights were interesting but we toured them on our own, the guide does not join. This was also described in advance so it wasn’t a surprise but I was looking for a bit more as we travelled to the sights.

We would, however, like to clarify for future travelers that this experience is accurately described on the booking page. It is offered as transportation with a driver and tour host, not as a licensed guided tour, and it clearly states that guests explore the archaeological sites independently. As you mentioned in your review, this was explained in advance and therefore was not a surprise.
We understand that you would have preferred more commentary during the drive, and we appreciate this constructive suggestion. We will certainly consider ways to enrich the experience with additional information while traveling between the sites.
That said, we believe ratings should reflect whether an experience matches what was advertised. Since your review acknowledges that the tour was delivered exactly as described, we are naturally disappointed that this resulted in a low rating.

The experience was not as described. It was simply being driven to sites and then left alone. There was no guiding involved, although the driver made an attempt to guide when we complained.

Great time viewing both sites. Tasos our guide was perfect!! Kept us informed and gave us so much history and local knowledge about where we were. Would highly recommend this tour.

Our private tour to Mycenae and Epidaurus was great - our driver and guide (Kostas) was excellent - very personable and just a really nice guy. We loved talking with him and learning about his life in Greece, and he provided loads of great information for us on both sites and the countryside and villages along the way. The theater at Epidaurus was amazing, and the Mycenae site and ruins were extremely interesting - with absolutely incredible scenic views!!

The sites we visited were amazing. Our driver did not speak English so he was not able to answer our questions. He was very professional and a good driver.
The sites as Mycenae and Epidaurus were amazing to see and must-see sites if you’re in the area. It was great to have a driver who was so well-versed in both the history of the sites and the Ancient Greek philosophy that influenced them.

This was a basic, functional transportation. The vehicle actually was a cab (meter off), though on the newer, cleaner, nicer side of things. Our driver met us where our cruise ship tender unloaded with a sign with my name - no issues around meet up despite our ship being about 15 minutes later than we had booked for. The driver took us to the Treasury of Atreus first. It was just down the road from Mycenae and had a common admission ticket which the driver purchased for us. After leaving us to explore that for a bit, he drove us down the road to Mycenae, where we explored the museum and ruins on our own for another 60-90 minutes. From there, he drove us to the theater at Epidaurus and left us to explore the theater, museum, and ruins on our own. Both sites were amazing to see. The car was clean and comfortable and he provided bottled water. Note that this is a driver, not a licensed guide, so he isn't allowed to come in and show you around or explain anything to you. At each stop, he dropped us off at the gate, bought our tickets, and was waiting by the gate for us to return. When we returned to town, we asked him for some recommendations for lunch, he dropped us off by one and pointed out that there was a local farmers market in town that day which we walked to afterwards and really enjoyed. The itinerary was more than enough time for us at each location - we didn't even end up using the full amount of time we had booked.

Mycenae and Epidaurus are incredible experiences in their own right. It could be a lot to fit them both into one day, but this tour makes it easy and enjoyable, especially in the heat. The van was first class. As always the case with private tours, our guide could, and did, elevate the experience to a whole other level. Passos not only knew the history, as a local he is able to talk about the importance of the sites today. As a student of Greek philosophy, he provided an insight and background to the books and mythology that lent many layers of depth to the history. This is way more than a “tour”, couldn’t recommend enough.
