Amazing experience, I had JT as an instructor today. Was my first time diving, magical to do it off of Okinawa. Not only was he an amazing instructor he explained all the aquatic life under the water and some history of Okinawa, after was a wagyu dish cooked by yourself at an amazing view. Not only would I do this again, I WILL do this when I return. Thanks again JT and crew.

We went in October 2025 and oh my goodness. I’m terrible at writing reviews, but I have thought so much about this dive experience the last 5 months that I just cannot go without writing a review for this excursion. My husband and I have been on several uncertified dives (St Martin. Cozumel, Hawaii twice) and this particular one in Okinawa was by far the BEST dive experience! We saw way more here than any of our other dives. The instructor (I think his name was Toshi) was also incredible! And he took really, really great photos of us during the experience which have been so fun to look back on. These are seriously our best scuba pictures. So clear, some with turtles, and the coral is actually pretty in the photos. So patient, kind, and prepped the greatest lunch for us. Also the view while eating lunch you cannot beat. It was so convenient that Toshi also picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off back at the hotel. That was a huge plus. He was so easy and fun to talk to as well. No part of was awkward, even it just being my husband and I and Toshi. We have recommended this experience to so many friends and family once we got back to the states that I figured I really should just write a review and recommend to the whole world. Wish words did this experience justice. We would go back to Okinawa for literally just this scuba experience again. If you don’t choose this excursion you will surely miss out. It was 100% worth the money. You will not find a cooler experience than this one!

This is a must do!! Toshi was amazingly calm and had great patience with us as forst timers. We felt safe and in control the whole time which meant we could just focus on enjoying the amazing undersea world around us. Truly greatful for the great equipment they had and the time taken to instruct us. It was all very easy once in the water. The meal afterwards was amazing and so was the view. Will be doing this again in our home country for sure! But hope to be back one day to do again. We got lucky and had a private session with him loved it all.

What an amazing experience! My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary and it was perfect. Our guide was very knowledgeable and super patient with us beginners. He made sure we were comfortable in the water and even brought hot tea for after each dive! The wildlife was incredible! There was even one location where we saw thousands of fish swimming above us! After the dives, we went back to the Ocean Lounge and enjoyed hot showers before our delicious lunch. The food was all locally sourced and prepared by our guide. The food and the view could not have been better! It was a fantastic experience…highly recommended!

Diving with Toshi was nothing short of incredible! From the moment we met him, his warm, friendly energy made us feel right at home. His professionalism and deep knowledge of the ocean around Motobu gave us total confidence, and his passion for diving was contagious.
Toshi’s pre-dive briefing was clear and thorough, making sure every diver knew exactly what to expect. Once underwater, he guided us with an expert eye—pointing out fascinating marine life we never would have spotted on our own.
What made the day truly special was Toshi’s personal touch—checking in often, making sure we were comfortable. His calm, reassuring presence made the dive both safe and unforgettable.
If you’re diving in Okinawa, do yourself a favor and book with Toshi. You’ll come away with stunning memories, amazing photos, and a whole new appreciation for the beauty of the sea.

This was by far one of the best tours we have done together. Our tour guide spoke fluent English and was very helpful, patient, encouraging, and knowledgeable both about scuba but also about Japan, Okinawa, and was very helpful to get us to and from the tour afterwards. Lunch was delicious and the cafe where you eat has gorgeous views of the ocean and where we went scuba diving. While diving, our guide was right with us and knew exactly what he was doing and made us feel safe. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience on this tour —my first time diving, and thanks to Toshi, it couldn’t have gone better. He was a fantastic guide and made me feel completely safe and confident underwater. The marine life and coral were stunning. Even saw a turtle. To top it all off, the Wagyu lunch was delicious - such a perfect way to end the adventure. Highly recommended for any beginners looking for a supportive and memorable first dive in Okinawa!

I cannot recommend this enough! Toshi was the perfect host and dive master. I was very impressed at the accommodation and attention. The dive sites were beautiful and to have a private dive allowed to explore at my own pace and preference. The lunch was delicious and with a gorgeous view. Don’t miss out on this opportunity!

I was so impressed with this experience! Toshi (jt) was attentive, patient, and great company. Both dives were beautiful and allowed for independent exploration. I was so impressed that not only did I have a 1 on 1 dive with the dive master but that he also prepared the BBQ and drove me to the hotel and back. This is one of the most beautiful dive spots I have experienced and would recommend this to everyone! Thank you so much for a great dive and experience in Okinawa.

We enjoyed ourselves so much with our Dive Master, Taz. The facilities were amazing, and we felt so comfortable throughout the whole dive. The wagyu lunch was absolutely amazing with enormous portions. Highly recommended!

The dive is awesome! Wish I can get more diver friends and come over Motobu again to have a party after the dive. The vegetables are fresh and juicy, and the meat is nice just with the salt. And also the view at the shop is super nice when the sun goes down. And Taz san also give me some advices on where to go in Okinawa.

From the initial contact point until the end of the tour Taz was the most kind, caring and hospitable host. He was extremely accommodating with working with us on a suitable time and altered the schedule which was truly appreciated.
It was my husbands first dive whilst I have some dives under my belt. Taz look the time to explain everything and really made us feel comfortable before commencing our dives. He ensured my husband was comfortable in the water and stayed with him until he got used to the equipment. Taz was great at pointing out different varieties of fish and was very playful which made it even more fun! we saw so many gorgeous fish, coral and Taz was kind enough to take some photos for us.
Next we headed for lunch to the most gorgeous place surrounded by greenery and the ocean. The newly built cafe has such a relaxing vibe perfect to have lunch after a dive.
Now the lunch… wow!!! All the produce is from the surrounding farms and the quality of the meat and vegetables is astounding. The Japanese bbq was never ending and was very generous with portions. We even finished with dessert a scrumptious cheesecake (which taz had made the night before) and the best black coffee I’ve had. We were so full after this and this is definitely one of the best meals we have had in Japan.
Taz truly has such great attention to detail and has really thought out the experience. This is an experience we will cherish and remember for a time life. Thank you Taz!!

We had a fantastic beginner’s diving day with Taz. Taz speaks fluent English as well as Japanese which is hard to find in Japan. We were firstly impressed with his newly refurbished dive shop which is extremely cozy and make you feel like home. Most important of all, he offers an exclusive service even though it’s just 2 of us. It makes you feel safe and comfortable especially when you are a first time diver. His 5 star service is down to every little bit. The package is including a BBQ at the end, everything is from local and with high quality such as Ishigaki beef. We are very picky at food but felt it’s the best meal we had in the whole trip in Okinawa. If you are looking for an exclusive diving experience with brilliant dinner at the end, you can’t miss this opportunity. Highly recommended! We will definitely come back to Taz next time!

Our experience with Ocean Lounge, it’s operator Taz, and Taz taking us diving was all around a phenomenal and one of a kind experience. I cannot praise it higher. Book this tour over anything else! Taz made my travel partner and I feel welcomed, safe, and like royalty. He speaks excellent English which was so reassuring when it comes to safety.
In terms of the dive - the meeting point is an all in one lounge and cafe, it it also where you can shower after. It has the most amazing view, it was stunning. Taz’s outfit boasts brand new gear, safety checks and he showed us some great reef that was teaming with fish! He even took some great photos of us and distributed them same day! When arriving back at the lounge/cafe the amenities of were over the top superb and clean. I shiwered with luxurious soap and shampoo and freshened up all without haste. I even blow dried my hair!
The bbq at the lounge was more like an outdoor spa with a 5 star meal. Taz proceeded to serve us course after course of delicious locally grown and raised produce and meat. Each dish had a story! He also shared recommendations on the area that were incredible.
We had such an amazing time, there is so much thought and attention to detail built into every step of this experience to make you feel pampered and welcomed. It was second to none. I will remember this for a lifetime.

I don’t usually write reviews. I’m lazy. However this was such a unique and enjoyable experience I felt I owed it to the tour operator, Taz, to post this review. Taz went above and beyond to create a unique diving and Japanese Bar B Q lunch experience. The diving was great, but most unusual was the lunch prepared in the cafe with incredible ocean views. My friend and I were spoiled to an abundant and delicious Bar B Q lunch while soaking our feet in a warm foot bath. Taz was extremely hospitable and kind making sure we had an awesome experience. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone looking for a great diving and lunch experience!
