Tour Disaster

The vendor was dishonest regarding the tour return time and we had to leave tour on our own, missing the included lunch, in order to make it back to our ship for departure, paying for the taxi on our own. Also one of us was declined admission to the waterfalls as the driver left prior to allowing us entry. Do not recommend this vendor as he was also dishonest with Viator on the facts of the situation.

The tour return time and overall duration are clearly stated on the product page before booking. As this was a shared group tour, it followed a fixed itinerary and schedule. Guests who have cruise departures or strict return times are always advised to consider private options or tours with guaranteed return times. Regarding the waterfalls visit, entry is managed as a group. Leaving the vehicle or tour flow prematurely can unfortunately result in missing certain inclusions. Our driver and guide must follow the group schedule and cannot wait beyond the allocated time. We regret that you chose to leave the tour early and miss the included lunch. This decision was made independently in order to meet your ship’s departure time, and the taxi cost was therefore not part of the tour service. We always aim to operate transparently and in line with the information shared with Viator and our guests. I thought I would give you an honest review of this tour so you know what actually happens! Whilst pick-up was prompt at 8:30 we were just driven round the corner and left in a sports bar for 30 minutes whilst we waited for something (not sure what). Bit of a waste of time. The first thing that happens is a water fight which is not even mentioned in the itinerary. If you don't want to take part, you will still get wet. This lasts about 30 minutes. You are then taken to a dodgy roadside cafe for 45 minutes for people to dry. A complete waste of time. Next stop is Jesus beach. Another 45 minutes is spent here but there is not much to do apart from have a paddle or ride a sad camel. There is no explanation of the history of this place, you are just dumped here and left to your own devices. Somebody else left a review and said this was just a glorified car-park. That sums it up perfectly. There must be nicer places to go? Next you are taken for lunch which is average (chicken skewer, rice and salad). There is no vegetarian option so my daughter had to have just rice and salad. Next we went to some watefalls. These were nice but again 45 minutes was too long to spend here. Where was the visit to the village that was mentioned in the itinerary? I suspect they don't want the jeeps visiting anymore as they all play loud music ALL of the time. I've been on many jeep tours over the years and this was by far the worst. We were bored and it gave us a bad impression of Turkey on our first day there. The jeep drivers are lovely, it's not their fault the tour is so badly organised.. You have been warned! If you want a party atmosphere then this is maybe the tour for you but if you want to see the real Turkey I would avoid this tour.

It was mediocre but not up to our expectations. The tour guide was nice but it felt like he just went to random places without explaining what the place was and instead just dropped us there, said ‘you’ll be here 45minutes’ and then rushed off to the next place. The excursion consisted of a ‘water gun’ experience which wasn’t expected and wasn’t mentioned either and felt like that time could’ve been used to see another village/ area considering it was our first time in Turkey. The only part which was worth while was right to the end, the waterfall but unfortunately the ‘water-gun’, shallow sea and the lunch felt like it was rushed and was not enjoyable. The lunch would’ve sufficed a 10 year old and felt more like a starter than a lunch. The tour guide asked for a tip at the end even though he only drove us to places and didn’t explain any places we stopped at, so that felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately it’s not an excursion I would recommend.

Safari jeep drivers are good & very well behaved. The safari drive experience is amazing but the food is crap. Marmaris food at local shops is so nice & more cheaper than the food at this safari. Wish the tea/coffee break & lunch was more worthy.

Diese Tour lohnt sich nicht!

Um es gleich auf den Punkt zu bringen: Diese Tour stimmt in weiten Teilen nicht mit der Beschreibung bei VIATOR űber ein. Wir hatten die Tour mit deutsch-sprachiger Reiseleitung gebucht, die von Anfang an fehlte. Wir haben auch keine idyllischen Bergdörfer im Umland von Marmaris gesehen - genausowenig wie den in der Beschreibung ausgewiesene 2300 Jahre alten Plantagenbaum. Stattdessen gab es es eine fast einstűndige "Schlacht" mit Wasserpistolen, die dazu führte, dass wir danach drei Stunden mit ziemlich durchnässter Kleidung an der Jeep-Tour teilnehmen mussten. Auch das sonstige Programm war mehr als dűrftig - ein Stopp an einem eher mickrigen Wasserfall und eine Stunde an einer kleinen Badebucht mit Café, dilas von den Jeep-Fahrern zum Kartenspielen genutzt wurde. Danach ging es direkt wieder ins Hotel zurück. Diese Tour war ihr Geld nicht wert, wir wűrden sie kein zweites Mal mehr buchen!

Uns ist jedoch bewusst, dass dies nicht jedermanns Geschmack ist und vor allem dann problematisch wird, wenn Gäste über längere Zeit durchnässt bleiben müssen. Ihr Feedback zeigt deutlich, dass die Balance zwischen Unterhaltung und Sightseeing hier nicht gestimmt hat. Auch Ihre Anmerkungen zum insgesamt knappen Programm nehmen wir sehr ernst.
