It’s a 3 hour tour. You have a few choices about what you want to see. Love that the tour was geared to our interests. Our guide, Lore (Lorie) spoke English very well. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

Our guide, Lauri, was very good. She was engaging as she told stories of Bernadette and her family during the time of her apparitions. We were there while several masses were going on so we could not go into the Grotto.
I would recommend this private tour to anyone interested in the history or Bernadette and Lourdes.

Even though flooding altered some site visits, Laure took good care to give us an informative, interesting and leisurely tour. She communicated well thru app as well as sending another guide over in person to make sure we knew of her delay. We made it to the remaining sites and she added the covered market since we had time. This may have been the Highlight of our trip to Europe as we saw London, Paris and Rome.
It was such a spiritual place to be a part of and to be on Holy ground was truly amazing.

Laure gave a very good tour. She spoke very good English and knew the history well. She has a wonderful gentle personality. She was very accommodating by allowing us to direct the sequence of the tour to our liking and to accommodate our walking abilities. She spent whatever time it took for us and we never felt rushed. It was a rainy day (more like occasional showers so no need to cancel) so my mother and I were already feeling a little upset about this. However, by the end our moods had completely changed thanks to Laure.
It was genuinely more than we could have expected. It was a real private tour with all attention focused on us and the beautiful city. I loved the historical aspect of the tour. You get to learn so many behind the scenes moments that then make you want to buy ten books to keep learning more.
We learned about Bernadette and even saw how and where she lived. The nicest thing though, was that Laure, our tour guide, seemed to know all the shop owners or museum workers where we went. She is so dedicated to the tour that even people enjoy having her bring guests over.
The hidden Basilica was impressive in itself, but then the tour guide (Laure) taught us the history behind all the details and you are even more mind blow. The wall art you could pass by without much notice, but she pointed out the detail of the glass used and how they were created- and yet again left in awe.
The last stop was the Chateau Fort or Fortress of Lourdes which includes the Pyrenean museum. Standing among thousands of years of historical architecture was gratifying in itself. The view is spectacular. With the museum you get to learn the people's way of being in Lourdes before all the modern pleasantries: how they dressed, how they decorated, how they ate, hunted, slept, worked, etc. There is also a botanical garden that the last owner had installed an it includes miniatures of all the types of homes you could find people of the Pyrenees living in. Laure (tour guide) even had all these stories and legends about the castle and the name "Lourdes" she told us.
The tour was supposed to be around 2 hours, but with the rain things slowed down. Laure was so amazing she never made us feel rushed. She took her time and took our pictures at times. She was one of the best tour guides we have had.
P.S.: buy the famous cake at the outdoor market they have at Les Halles- not the shops. Also, you can buy the candles for the sanctuary at a gift shop in front of the entrance for a good price.

Eine sehr gut geführte Tour in einem leicht verständlichem Englisch. Man besucht die wichtigsten Punkte inkl. Kirche und Quelle aus geringer Entfernung. Noch vielen Dank für den Tipp wann es am besten passt Grotte mit Quelle direkt zu besuchen. Auch für den Tip mit der Prozession.
