Overview
Go on an open-top double-decker safari through the Australian outback on the Kinnon-family hosted Nogo Station Experience. Starting with a heritage tour of Longreach, you’ll then head out to Nogo Station’s historic shearing sheds, where you’ll learn about the prized Merino wool. From there, you’ll head out on safari across the vast outback plains, before wrapping up with a traditional pioneer ‘smoko’ under the gum trees at Captain Starlight’s Camp.

Bus driver (Brad) and station host (Jeremy) were friendly, welcoming and informative. It was great to see a working station and learn about modern methods of farming.
A very educational experience. Surprised just how little I knew about sheep stations and their operations.

If I could give it 10 stars I would. Really informative, Jeremy has a great sense of humour and really knows his stuff. Don’t miss out on this tour. Duncan the bus driver is the best host too, full of information on Longreach. Saw donkeys, camels and goats from the open top double decker bus.

Very informative, the station owners and guide were very knowledgeable and communicated well. Fortunately they were shearing when we did the trip, if there was no shearing the experience would have been a bit light on.

Thanks for joining us on Nogo Station! On the day you came, we had a shearing team in, so you were fortunate to see Nogo shearing shed in full swing. We're so glad you enjoyed the 'live' experience. On a regular tour day, Jeremy Kinnon provides rich and deep insights into the life and times of shearing. The merino sheep, along with Banjo (Jeremy's trusted border collie), are brought up into the shearing shed, and the process of shearing a sheep is enacted live. It is also an experience not to miss.
One of the best talks I have been to in years. Gives you a real feel for what it’s like to live on the land, both now and in the distant past. Shearing shed talk was up first and then an open top bus tour of the farm with a lunch set amount the trees. Just a great morning out.
Right from the pick-up it was interesting to hear the stories of the outback. We got a history of the town and landmarks were identified on the way to Nogo Station. I was not expecting the lunch pail and billy tea, which was great! I would definitely recommend taking this tour. You just can't get all that history wandering on your own, definitely the local input is worth it!

All the trip was very enjoyable.

Jeremy, our tour guide, elevated our experience from fabulous to exceptional. His funny and knowledgeable commentary combined with beautiful scenery and a superb attention to detail package from Outback Pioneer left us with wonderful memories and stories to tell
Loved this tour as it shows just how much hard work is put into the station and what it entails. Such a great way to learn about what these farmers do with their knowledge and abilities. Very impressed.
Do go on the Nogo Station experience :) Excellent tour guide and loved his sense of humour. Very informative and relaxed. Great lunch in the shade under the gumtrees. Lots to see.
The stories and the history were wonderfully told. The bush camp morning tea was generous esp with the flies
We learnt so much and had a super time. A trip around Longreach brought local history to life. Well known Aussie terms finally made sense especially in the shearing shed. Did you know shearers wore moccasins? The open top bus ride was lots of fun. We were amazed at the vastness and could almost imagine the isolation of the early pioneers. Lunch was delicious - (even if we had to share it with every fly in Australia.)
Jeremy the driver, guide was fantastic. A real story teller created a fun atmosphere. It was the most informative time in the wool shed but presented with a great fun outlook. He has a very characteristic Australian humour that is a dying art. Got to see lots of interesting things along the way around Longreach and on the property. Campsite lunch was delicious. A truely great day, highly recommended.
It was a great experience most enjoyable the bus driver keep us entertained with his jokes & wealths of knowledge
