Itinerary

Meet your driver and group at a central Liverpool location, and hop aboard your coach to start the journey north out of the city.

Your first stop is Bowness-on-Windermere, where you have the option of taking a cruise along England's longest lake.

In Ambleside, spend around an hour exploring at leisure, perhaps browsing the shops or visiting traditional pubs and tea rooms.

Pass by the scenery of Little Langdale Valley as you head to the scenic valley of Blea Tarn, where you can spend time walking in the fresh air.

Next up, Grasmere, home of the famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. Try it's tasty gingerbread and stock up on more to take home with you.

Your day trip then ends with a drop-off back at the start point in central Liverpool.

We had our trip with Frank and to be honest couldn't ask for a better tour guide! He kept the tour engaging with stories about the lake district and famous people from the past who belonged to the area. He made sure we don't get bored even when we were on the bus by playing stories and poetries. He is a fantastic driver and had very good geographical knowledge about the area. My trip was to the lake district. The driver Shelly was amazing and if I could rate her alone, I would give a higher score. Really knew her stuff, clearly loves what she does, super funny and charming. For starters we didn't start promptly as advertised. The trip itself left me wanting to be honest. The bus really should offer wifi and the company in my opinion should offer at least water or something like that for the price it is, given that it includes absolutely nothing, including the boat ticket. The boat trip was incredibly meh. The view you get, you can get it by walking around, there was nothing special to it. Just felt like a waste of time and money. The villages Ambleside and Grasmere are cute, quaint and small, but again didn't think they were that exciting to see. The best bit for me was Blea Tarn, the mountains. Omg! Breathtaking, surreal, incredibly beautiful. Not sure we actually stayed 45 minutes, didn't feel like that, honestly more time should be spent there. I wouldn't recommend going in the winter as it gets dark earlier and its tricky to do sightseeing that way,plus the weather can be really awful.

Due to an issue, I was rescheduled to the North Wales tour. The BusyBus staff was helpful and flexible in getting me on a different tour on the same day. The North Wales adventure was fantastic! The bus was clean and comfortable, it even had usb ports. Joe is a great driver and an enthusiastic, informative, and entertaining tour guide. The itinerary was varied and wonderful, we got to take in the views, go for some walks, and shop. It was a really great day.

Mesmerising beauty

It was a delightful day. The Lake District is extremely beautiful. Loved the views, especially the Langdale Valley. Though it rained heavily during the day, we managed to enjoy the spectacular beauty. Shelly, our guide was very helpful and sweet. I personally adored the way she told us stories about the villages as we crossed them. The highlight was sighting the gorgeous herdwick sheeps. Our day ended with grabbing the world famous Grasmere gingerbread from Wordsworth’s native village- Grasmere. All in all, it was a wonderful experience.

Amazing day trip! Well worth it. Took two teenagers who had a fantastic time! Our tour guide, Shelly, was The Best!!! Thanks, Shelly! Funny, knowledgeable, and pointed all the best spots for when we wandered on our own once off the bus. Dress in layers (warm/ comfortable) and wear shoes with grip (boots/sneakers.) Take some snacks and water for the ride. In Ambleside, go to the photo op the guide suggests and get a pub lunch. The big white hotel/pub in Grassmere makes amazing hot chocolate. If you’re in Liverpool as a tourist, or a Scouser looking for a great day out, I wouldn’t miss this one! We’d definitely book with this company again!

Lake Windermere was so beautiful and peaceful. An oasis of calm. But I was blown away by the breathtaking scenery from our Blaetern walk. The weather was dry and crisp which was just perfect. Shelley was a fabulous guide with a great sense of humour. She had some wonderful stories to tell. It was a small group which made the trip more delightful.

A grand day out! Our driver/guide Shelly was fantastic, steering us through the Lake District with interesting explanations and trivia all the way. The itinerary was slightly different than advertised, but it was all for the best. A highly recommended tour!
