Your tour commences from outside the World Museum, William Brown Street, Liverpool, L3 8EN opposite St Johns Garden. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your tour departure time, so your driver-guide, is able to welcome you onboard. Your tour will depart at 09:15am PROMPT.

Itinerary
Meet your driver and group at a central Liverpool location, and hop aboard your coach to start the journey north out of the city.
Your first stop is Bowness-on-Windermere, where you have the option of taking a cruise along England's longest lake.
In Ambleside, spend around an hour exploring at leisure, perhaps browsing the shops or visiting traditional pubs and tea rooms.
Pass by the scenery of Little Langdale Valley as you head to the scenic valley of Blea Tarn, where you can spend time walking in the fresh air.
Next up, Grasmere, home of the famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop. Try it's tasty gingerbread and stock up on more to take home with you.
Your day trip then ends with a drop-off back at the start point in central Liverpool.

We had our trip with Frank and to be honest couldn't ask for a better tour guide! He kept the tour engaging with stories about the lake district and famous people from the past who belonged to the area. He made sure we don't get bored even when we were on the bus by playing stories and poetries. He is a fantastic driver and had very good geographical knowledge about the area.
We would surely be looking forward to have more trips with him in the near future.

This was a very disappointing tour because our guide was not prepared at all. She kept reading from paper notes while driving and gave very little information about the area. The worst part was that I had to shout “hey driver, are you okay?” When I saw her dozing off while on the highway! Then, we were off on narrow roads which would have been scenic, but she was driving very fast on a rainy, foggy day. When we returned to Ambelside, she said she would have to “figure out” how to go ahead with the tour. I left on my own for a train ride back to Liverpool which cost an additional $30.
Poor planning, unsafe driving, and lack of proper training. Other passengers were concerned and thanked me for my actions.

Ann was a absolute hoot! She was wonderful and full of history! this is an absolute must do adventure!
It was such a great experience - from the informative and entertaining commentary, to the magnificent scenery, to the fact that I didn’t have to drive, plan the trip and find parking. I’ve now taken two different trips with Busy Bus and I would take more in the future
Lovely area. Enjoyed the boar ride on Windermere. Adrian was delightful and took care of us even going above and beyond. We got stuck for 3 hours on the highway due to an accident/road closure. Dropped me at my hotel. The stops were interesting
Excellent way to see lake district. Very punctual Plenty time to explore the little towns. Easy to locate meeting points. Brilliant driver and very entertaining .Would recommend lake trip.

Fun day out. Very well planned by the Frank our guide. He was funny and created a nice atmosphere. We had sufficient free time at each stop. Nice small group of 8 people. Highly recommend.
The Lake District tour was truly magical. I never imagined we could see places that looked so much like Switzerland. Thank you so much to our knowledgeable driver, tour guide, and storyteller, Shelly. She made the tour so lively and engaging, and her wonderful stories made us feel like we were part of the tales she shared. It was an unforgettable experience!
Long day of driving but worth it for the views. I'd skip the walk across the lakeside as it's hard on the feet without the right shoes. Lake cruise is mediocre to dull.

The amount of driving on the tour is in line with our advertised itinerary, as we cover a lot of spectacular scenery throughout the day. We also recommend that guests bring comfortable walking shoes, as the walk to Blea Tarn follows tracks and uneven paths. That said, the walk is entirely optional, and our guide lets everyone know on the day that you can take part in as much or as little of the walking as you wish.
With regards to the lake cruise, this is an optional activity that is not arranged or operated by BusyBus, so guests are free to choose whether or not they wish to participate.

Great day in the Lake District! Would recommend to anyone. Take the boat ride and enjoy the gingerbread!
The experience did not happen. We waited an hour at the pickup point, and finally started calling, only to find out the driver/tour guide was sick and had cancelled. Very frustrating!
Lake District tour is absolutely a right choice if you have a short stay in Liverpool and want to experience nature.
A wonderful full day with Shelly seeing various famously beautiful and historic parts of the Lake District. She shared lots of useful and interesting information. A great way to see this part of the country.
I travelled with my wife and niece on a sunny and warm spring in May 2026. Great experience to be able to see the beauty of Lake District coupled with fun interaction with Adrian, our driver, who has lots of dad jokes that he threw along while on the journey. Highly recommended tour.
Totally recommend it! Lake district is amazing everyone ahs to visit it. Frank was a great driver and tour guide, it was very nice and pleasant to have this day trip.

My trip was to the lake district. The driver Shelly was amazing and if I could rate her alone, I would give a higher score. Really knew her stuff, clearly loves what she does, super funny and charming.
For starters we didn't start promptly as advertised.
The trip itself left me wanting to be honest.
The bus really should offer wifi and the company in my opinion should offer at least water or something like that for the price it is, given that it includes absolutely nothing, including the boat ticket.
The boat trip was incredibly meh. The view you get, you can get it by walking around, there was nothing special to it. Just felt like a waste of time and money. The villages Ambleside and Grasmere are cute, quaint and small, but again didn't think they were that exciting to see.
The best bit for me was Blea Tarn, the mountains. Omg! Breathtaking, surreal, incredibly beautiful. Not sure we actually stayed 45 minutes, didn't feel like that, honestly more time should be spent there.
I wouldn't recommend going in the winter as it gets dark earlier and its tricky to do sightseeing that way,plus the weather can be really awful.

The Lake District tour was amazing and definitely worth it! Our guide, Jerry, was fantastic—very friendly, knowledgeable, and guided us throughout the entire trip. The bus is a 12 seater and this works well on the narrow roads in the lake district

Due to an issue, I was rescheduled to the North Wales tour. The BusyBus staff was helpful and flexible in getting me on a different tour on the same day. The North Wales adventure was fantastic! The bus was clean and comfortable, it even had usb ports. Joe is a great driver and an enthusiastic, informative, and entertaining tour guide. The itinerary was varied and wonderful, we got to take in the views, go for some walks, and shop. It was a really great day.

It was a delightful day. The Lake District is extremely beautiful. Loved the views, especially the Langdale Valley. Though it rained heavily during the day, we managed to enjoy the spectacular beauty. Shelly, our guide was very helpful and sweet.
I personally adored the way she told us stories about the villages as we crossed them.
The highlight was sighting the gorgeous herdwick sheeps.
Our day ended with grabbing the world famous Grasmere gingerbread from Wordsworth’s native village- Grasmere.
All in all, it was a wonderful experience.
