Fabulous experience. Boat tour from Ksamil across the lake, picking up mussels along the way to a tiny restaurant on a quiet beach. Best mussels I’ve ever eaten - raw, barbecued and steamed with wine and local oregano.
Don’t make the mistake I made and think that the tour starts at Butrint Archaeological park (happily less than 30 mins back by bus).

This is a pleasant and relaxing boat ride with an interesting explanation of mussel farming as we boat around the lake and then go to a quiet beach where the mussels are prepared three different ways.

This was such a fantastic afternoon trop learning about the cultivation of mussels.
The tiny restaurant we went to was a cute, authentic experience.
Tip - remember to take cash with you so that you can buy the ingredients and homemade wine, honey anfld dried oregano. Everything was absolutely delicious!!!

In early summer, this tour leaves from right in front of Butrint park and is very easy to find. Ilio explained the life cycle of farmed mussels and we met mussel farmers and fishermen. It was beautiful and relaxing! After debearding the mussels, we visited Livia restaurant and feasted on them. An absolutely wo of experience!

We had an amazing time on this tour, highly recommend it to anybody. Elidon was fantastic explaining all the history and details of mussel farming, we all enjoyed collecting and cleaning the mussels on the boat The kids had an amazing time. At the restaurant we were able to try them in three different ways, delicious!

This was a great tour, beautiful boat trip on the lake, really interesting look at mussel farming - and a really nice lunch on the shores of the lake, al fresco. The guide was really knowledgeable and very friendly. I would highly recommend this trip it was great fun.

We had an amazing experience on the mussels tour! Our guide was knowledgeable, and we got out to work de-bearding the mussels. The restaurant that we stopped at to make the mussels was family run, and each way to prepare the mussels was better than the other. As we were heading back, the sun was just starting to set making a gorgeous ride back. You could feel the genuine love and appreciation for the farming and cooking of the mussels from everyone involved. We were treated like family, you will as well when you take this tour.

This was a great experience! You learn about mussel farming and are taken out on the Butrint lake on a small boat. The restaurant they take you to is open air on the other side of the lake. You have a few moments to swim before lunch/dinner is served. The food was delicious and so fresh!

Our trip was great, the guide was soo friendly and knew so much to answer all of our questions. He made it fun and the mussels we got to eat were delicious. De bearding the mussels was fun and great to be able to get involved. Lots of time to relax on the island around dinner and we even made it back to catch sunset in the boat on our ride home!

I definitely recommend this tour. The tour guide Antonio was really nice and knowledgeable. After showing us where the Mussels grow and teaching us about how they are farmed, we could touch and clean some mussels while we proceeded (still by boat) to the restaurant, where we could take a quick swim in the beautiful beach in front.
We ate 3 different Mussels dishes, with a salad, water and some wine. Best Mussels I've ever had. The scenery is just amazing, the atmosphere of the place is of a simple and joyful life, which combined perfectly with the food- simple and amazing
