Pamukkale entrance fee is 30 € TRY. You can pay to the guide for skip-the-line tickets.

Really bad experience

Hello, the experience with that Tour was very bad. for me from Izmir the tour time was more than 12 hours, which I can understand because the distance was very long. What I cannot understand is that we have arrived at the historical site of interest, the reason for which I hired the Tour, around noon, and they have led us to waste more than two hours of time shopping sites that are not of interest to me , which were not included in the Tour program, and for which I did not pay. That meant we had less than three hours to tour hierapolis, pamukale. In addition, the guide did not give us a good explanation about the city, I managed to go through the entire city since I had studied on my own, but the guide never told us about the necropolis, the north gate, rather he seemed interested in us spending the pool time. Terrible experience, I would never recommend it

Our pickup time was 6:45am. Our driver was an elderly gentleman who had us get into his car as he drove us over an hour to where the shuttles are for the tour. This was not conveyed to us that this would be the process, nor did the gentleman speak a word of English, so we were confused the entire time as to where we are going, where the tour is, why we are alone in this car, etc. Finally we get to where the shuttles are and head off to Pamukkale, but not without a stop first to an entirely pointless shop selling extremely overpriced jewerly and various onyx items for 10x their value. This wasted a good portion of the time which we didn't want to miss since Pamukkale is over 3 hours away each direction and we didn't have that much time there anyway. On the way, we got a few relatively lazy tidbits of information so we can't say we truly learned a whole lot here. By the time we got to Pamukkale, it was 1:45, meaning there was 7 (!!!) hours from pickup time to when we could enjoy what we signed up for. We had a little over 2.5 hours to enjoy there, whereupon we had to promptly get back on the bus and leave. We got home by 9:30pm, meaning our day was just under 14 hours long, of which only 2.5 hours were spent actually enjoying what we signed up for. I understand it is far but I would expect far more time nonetheless to enjoy Panukkale and not waste so much time on other things. It seemed poorly planned overall, with poor communication throughout.

Pamukkale indeed is a beautiful place! However I expected a little more from the tour. The guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable but we really were left a lot on our own. Also the distance was really far from Izmir. The company was kind enough to provide a driver to pick me up from my hotel but the driver's car was so uncomfortable much worse than your average taxi cab plus three of us were crammed in the back seat. The driver was a nice man, though. Also, I was really surprised that masks were not required on the mini van as there were quite a few people. Probably the ideal thing it would be to stay somewhere closer to avoid traveling so many hours but I'm still glad I did the tour.

Mehmet, our tour guide brought heaps of knowledge, local facts and fun to this tour. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, well travelled and had many funny stories and experiences. A very special thank you to him. Tour was good, many sites and artifacts to see. Lunch wasn't very good at all, very stingy on the meat. However, the tour outshined this aspect for me.

Can't go wrong with this tour

Even though ours was a small gorup your, my wife and me ended up being the only ones, so it was like a private tour. Erdiem(our guide) brought along two students studying tourism at Kusadasi university. Let me start off with how the trip started off. We were picked up at the stipulated time from our hotel in Izmir in a good comfortable van which could seat 4 people comfortably. Erdiem was funny, informative and very patient. The tour was at a relaxed pace and we were never rushed into doing or not doing anything. Although the lunch was very simple, it was hot and hygienic. Alert: Carry your swim wear just in case you want to take a dip in the 'Cleopatra pool'. All in all a great trip to pammukale from Izmir. P.S: We ended up doing our tour to Ephesus with erdiem the next day as well.

Pamukkale is a very unique place there is no other place on earth like it but I was advised by the tour guide not to swim in Cleopatra pool as it isn't clean o wish something could be done to make it cleaner for tourists
