The tour guide was nice but I didn’t realize this is a golf cart tour so in the heat that should be noted. Also as far as Pokémon goes we thought the tour guide would help my son and give tips or actually walk around at the spots. We were literally dropped off at 2 parks downtown and told to go walk around. Something I could have done on my own. The tour operator had her son with her and he was playing Pokémon go in the golf cart but did not really interact with us.

It is unfortunate that in your opinion, you had a disappointing experience for our Pokémon Go tour. The weekend that you booked the tour for you and your son also happened to be the Pokémon Go global festival weekend. From 10 AM to 6 PM Saturday and Sunday certain areas of the city were loaded with multiple opportunities to grab and capture, avatars and earn points and experience battles.
Your tour guide is an expert Pokémon Go player and she drove you to the location Discovery Green, which is where the largest majority of the activity was going on this weekend. She took you to a place that your son and you could experience and walk the grounds and capture all of these items throughout the park.
There were ample opportunities to tap in to our drivers expertise. Yes, the guide was also engaged in playing the game and was available for you to follow along her path as she was capturing them as well.
After your experience, we contacted you directly. You spoke with my husband that day and he felt that he had communicated with you a plan for the future. We understand your frustration in leaving this unfortunate review, but we also have our side to the story and wanted to reach out to you to make things right. So we did that so we thought. We know we cannot please all people all the time. And in this instance, we did not. But I do feel that our exemplary ratings that we have show the kind of integrity we have and the kind of tour guides that we have and our goal in pleasing our customers. It’s my hope that any future potential tour guest will read this review and my response and take them both with a grain of salt and give us an opportunity. It’s my hope that any future potential Tour Guest will give us an opportunity to show them exactly who and what Joyride Houston tours is all about.

I honestly don’t even know where to start. The “tour guide” was rude and uninterested. She never introduced herself and acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about when I asked if she was there to meet us for our tour. The picture shows a vehicle that looks like a van but it was a golf cart. We got on hoping the tour would improve as we got going. The “guide” did not speak to us or even tell us where we were heading or what the plan was. She did not show us anything. As she was swerving and weaving through traffic, she was playing Pokémon go herself. And she was chatting with some man in the front seat. Yeah I forgot to mention she brought a friend or someone along with her. Idk who he was because like I said she never introduced herself or the guy. She was also yelling at pedestrians who were crossing the street. The pedestrians were crossing in the crosswalk at the appropriate time when they had the signal to go but she was arguing and yelling at them. We got off the so call “tour” and walked back to our starting point. I complained to the tour contact who I had spoken with about arranging the tour. She was argumentative and defensive. The advertising is misleading and I hope you don’t believe what they say. Please don’t waste your money. This is a big time rip off and my son was very disappointed. He was looking for a fun experience and thought he would have a guide and a knowledgeable person to make it even more fun. She might be a knowledgeable person but didn’t bother to share a scrap of information and didn’t care if it was a good experience for us or not. And clearly the employer didn’t care either. We learned a lesson.

It’s unfortunate that you did not fully comprehend the tour you booked. There were ample opportunities to ask more questions to the Joyride contact. In fact, you spoke via text messaging multiple times that day. You were informed about all of the events going on in the city that day due to our Pride Celebration as well as it being Pokémon Go Global Festival Weekend. (Beyoncé and the Astros) You were even given the festival list of events and told ahead of time that your guide was an expert player. Joyride offered you 3/4 options for time changes for your tour due to the Pride Parade and blocked off roads. Your tour was at 6:00 and the parade started at 7:00pm. You were even offered another date. However, you were driving in from the Austin area, I believe, and were attending a matinee at Jones Hall. Therefore, the tour came after a long drive and a great concert. Our Polaris GEM (not an air conditioned van-we do not use vans and do not advertise vans in any of our tour blurbs). Our driver was in an open air golf cart that provides a nice breeze down the streets as we roll. All this to say is you were disappointed. We get it. We certainly cannot please everyone. It is unfortunate that you had a bad experience. I spoke with you on the phone and offered to drive your group all the way back to your car since you expressed you were not feeling well. However, you declined.

I had never played Pokemon Go before but my sister loves it. So, for her birthday a friend and I took her to Houston for this Pokemon Go tour. My friend and I went ahead and downloaded it to our phones first so that she would not feel alone. The guide was super informative and even knew things that my sister who has played for 10 years didn't know. She had a blast and even though I had never played before my friend and I also had a lot of fun and gained a huge amount of knowledge. Proud to say I am not level 20 and my friend is level 15. My sister is like level a million. This was well worth it and who knows I may end up going on my birthday next.

We are so glad you had a fun experience! Your guide, David, knows a lot of the ins and outs of the Pokémon experience!

This was the cutest city tour while my grandson looked for Pokémon !! I learned a lot about the downtown and history which was really cool. Larry was awesome telling us history stories about certain places. Make sure you see the murals he knew about those too. I highly recommend this as a quick overview while entertaining kids .
