Itinerary
Your day trip from Hobart starts with the approximate 1.5-hour drive by coach to the Tasman Peninsula, during which your guide will point out sights and provide commentary. Stop for morning tea, and then embark on your 3-hour cruise, taking in the stunning coastline of Tasman National Park.
Stare up at some of Australia’s tallest sea cliffs, enter deep sea caves, spot the lighthouse that guards Storm Bay, and keep your eyes open for seals and dolphins. With the boat’s covered open-air seating, you’ll have great viewing opportunities of the sea and shore.
When you return to land, enjoy lunch before spending the afternoon on a tour with your guide to peninsula attractions such as Remarkable Cave, the Federation Chocolate Factory and Port Arthur lavender Farm (alternatively, upgrade your ticket to include either the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park or Port Arthur Historic Site instead). Your day trip ends with the drive back to Hobart.

Was a brilliant weather when I got on the cruise. Lots of active wildlife around. Seals feeding on tunas. Dolphins jumping and swimming around. Even caught a whale. View is nothing I have seen. Phil's a wonderful driver. Friendly and kind to all his passengers. And very passionate with his work.

The bus travel time was quite decent, we all managed to get some good rest between destinations. The included morning tea & coffee was a really nice touch, featuring bread and an assortment of tea flavors. The cruise was definitely the star of the show! Eventhough the weather wasn’t as we had hoped, the scenery was still breathtaking. We managed to spot some seals and seabirds, not a huge amount due to the weather, but the cruise itself and the tour guide made it incredibly enjoyable. Lunch was great too, with generous portions. We had a choice between a soup course or fish and chips, plus a vegan option. For the rest of the afternoon, we visited a few more spots. Just a head up: If you want to visit Port Arthur, you need to book that as an extra. Otherwise, you’ll spend that time visiting the local chocolate shops and Remarkable Cave (which is still a really good tour).

We had such a great day! Our driver and guide was friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable. He made the long drive enjoyable and shared lots of interesting information along the way.
The two crew members on the cruise were also amazing. They were professional, responsible, and explained everything clearly, which made the experience even better.

This was a great tour. While we did not do either two options we still had a good time. The costal portion gave us a good look at the huge cliffs between Eaglehawk and Port Arthur. Be aware that you will be on a commercial (40+ person) speedboat for the cruise on what can be rough seas.

Well planned, informed operator. Tour guide Andy/ Pete was great, friendly and accommodating. The tour ran to time. And thank goodness I didn't suffer sea sickness! I would advise to take the ginger tablets ahead of time and to do the morning tour

The cruise was one of the highlights of my trip to Tasmania. The views were absolutely unreal, we saw dramatic cliffs, various wildlife and peculiar rock formations - all this natural scenery was unforgettable. I also chose an option to see the Tasmanian Unzoo, a very unique and closeup experience with all kind of wildlife. I even managed to see several Tasmanian devils! During my trip to Tasmania I visited I visited multiple wildlife parks and this was the only place I got to actually see them.

They overloaded the boat and we were stuck in the back of the boat behind the toilet and the pilots panel. Could not see a thing except when they stopped and we had to get out of our seats in a rocky boat to try and take pictures. I fell on another passenger and luckily neither of us got hurt. These seats. We’re obviously not meant for passengers as we did not have seat belts while others did A dangerous situation for us and a horrible experience for an expensive excursion. We feel we should have some compensation
We booked 15 tours with Viator on our trip to AU and NZ and this was the only
disappointment. I would advise them to consider another outsource for this rxcurxion

We consistently get positive feedback on our Tasman Island Cruise but very much appreciate your comments and take them seriously. Our boats were not overloaded. They are licensed to carry 43 guests. On the day, one boat had 40 passengers and other 38. Seat belts are not required on the bench seats. It is the most stable part of the boat and it is certainly not dangerous to be seated there. Our guides try to ensure all parts of the boat get good viewing by turning the boat all ways at landmarks and sights.

Guides are some of the best you'll interact with, clearly love what they do and it just exudes out of them in a genuine manner especially the ones on the boat.
Depending on season, sighting of whales in particular may be more or less likely, went on both this and Bruny Island and saw whales on Tasman and dolphins on Bruny cruise.
If you only have time for one I'd do Bruny, maybe I just had better weather but felt the experience outside the cruises was a tad more enjoyable. HOWEVER, the unzoo, was amazing and makes the two cruises fairly even in experiences. You get to handfeed a mob of Kansas and see a tasmanian devil in action. Super cool so if you really want to see land mammals too I might do the Tasman caves but make sure you get the unzoo add-on.
Others on my tour who didn't get the unzoo sounded like they had FOMO.
Loved the experience, loved seeing the cliffs and amazing scenery and being in rough deep ocean was super cool.

Super fun filled day! We went for the unzoo as well and the whole day was well planned and executed. Dan our drive keep time well and the mood light and joyful. The cruise itself was great although the waters were bit rough that day, thankfully they were prepared with seasickness tablets in advance as well as sickbags for those who needed it.

Our tour to Port Arthur was absolutely amazing, and a big part of that was thanks to Phill, our guide. He was by far the best instructor we’ve had on any tour! You could tell he genuinely loves his job—his enthusiasm was contagious. He kept the group engaged with his knowledge while adding humor to the experience, making it both fun and educational.
As for the tour itself, it’s completely worth every dollar. The views were breathtaking, and the itinerary felt perfectly curated for an unforgettable day. We didn’t visit the Port Arthur Historic Site, but we did go to the Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park, which was incredible! Everything was well-planned, even down to the lunch stop at the Port Arthur Lavender Farm, which was a lovely touch.
This tour exceeded all my expectations, and I’d highly recommend it—especially if Phill is your guide!

Gorgeous scenery, saw dolphins, seals and some sea birds. Boat can get bumpy - tour offers a ginger tablet for sea sickness. Highlight of the Tasmanian devil unzoo was the kangaroo feeding.

Starting was excellent from Hobart from waterfront with a clean bus.... straight to the bay....then wonderful cruise to tasman sea and its confluence to southern sea....with full of photograph friendly stops...with ignious rocks...sedimentory rocks...seals whales....then lunch st lavender farm.... finally Tasmanian Devils trip.....a must do trip with Zen.....

This tour is amazing. Lots to see including seals and whales. The staff really know their stuff. Ben and Jordy made it heaps of fun. Ben handled that boat like an absolute pro - I felt completely safe!

Amazing tours I have to say, the nature's wonders with the beautiful views of the sea and land. A must-not-missed tour. This is paired with professional tour guides that give live commentary and showed schools or dolphins swimming around the sea. Also, they are professional in handing a person with motion sickness like me too.

Excellent tour. The boat along the coast was really exciting. They showed us many animals along the way. We saw a whale, many birds, seals … it was lovely.

Our driver was exceptional and couldn't be more accommodating. Loved the boat ride, although the two young guys weren't as professional. (eg, saying that they laugh when people throw up on the boat, spent time to try and retrieve a cuttle fish for a budgie when people were more interested in the seals, giving too much information about rock climbing [which seemed to be the thing that interested the person more than his job]. They could learn alot from the older guide on how to interact with people and not assuming that people on the trip haven't been on boats before. The scenery was stunning, and the staff at the office were very pleasant. Would recommend a tour to others and hopefully they can see some of the wonders that Tassie has to offer. At the end our driver took us for a walk to the Remarkable cave to fill in the spare time and really took care of us. Great job

I had a lovely time on the Tasman Island cruise day tour, including a 3 hour boat trip along the coast, and some quick afternoon sightseeing at the lavendar farm, chocolate shop, and Remarkable Cave.
We had nice calm conditions on the boat trip, and were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins, some sea lions and albatrosses. The capes, sea caves and rugged coastline were all incredibly beautiful! I enjoyed tasting the chocolate and lavender sweets (I recommend lavender nougat!). Remarkable Cave was very interesting, it was pleasant to stand on the viewing platform and watch the waves come in.
Thanks very much to the boat crew, and to our friendly driver Marnie - your commentary on the history of roadworks was definitely the highlight, don't tell the dolphins ;)
I had a great time, we packed a lot of sightseeing into the day. Good value, and I'd be happy to take another day trip like this one.

In my short stay in Tasmania, I had to choose from all trip options. I chose this one as I wanted to experience the unique flora and fauna of Tasmania. I had booked the trip with high hopes. Guess what, it turned out to be way better that what I had thought. The 3-hour cruise had stunning views of the Tasman peninsula, the ocean, the marine life there.
We had a bright sunny day, so the tour operators extended a little more into the ocean. It was Nature at its best! I saw hundreds of dolphins, seals and albatross. It was surreal feeling to cross from the Southern ocean to Tasman sea. Tasman sea was choppy and gave the thrilling experience. The tour guide had a great sense of humor and kept us entertained and involved.
We had lunch besides lavender farms. They were beautiful
As as add-on, I had taken Devil Unzoo. That too was great. Got to see the Tasman Devils and feed the Kangaroos. But I wish the staffs at Unzoo could provide more information. I feel we could have spent less time there.
For me, it was once in a lifetime experience. Its a must do, if in Hobart !

Fantastic day, really worthwhile. Drivers and bus were great. Knowledgeable and clean bus. The boat ride guides were great too, that was a lifetime experience and so pretty. The Port was also memorable and a good amount of time to see the area. This was a highlight tour, an absolute must and good value considering all that you do on the tour.

A memorable trip around Tasman coast - although it was cold and windswept - trip was memorable and exciting along the coast. We saw magnificent coastline, seals and few dolphins.
The visit to Port Arthur relics was an anticlimax, esp. since it was raining and boring.
Despite this, I would recommend the tour.

Very exciting, quiet an adventure. Our guide stressed safety, but at same time gave us a lifetime memory. Scenery was breathtaking, plus we saw many seals, a playful whale, albatross, dolphins.
