Lovely trip to see Mount Athos. Commentary in various languages. Unfortunately couldn't be heard clearly over the noise of the boat. Polite staff and comfortable boat.

Wij moesten een uur voor vertrek aanwezig zijn, we hadden een mooi plekje en de boot was niet echt vol, toen kwam er 15 minuten voor vertrek nog een hele bus vol griekse dames met een priester aan boord. Dat was een hoop gedoe voordat iedereen een plekje had gevonden de boot was nu echt bomvol. We vertrokken met een gezellig muziekje langsde kust van Athos. De kloosters waren goed zichtbaar maar de dames van de kerkclub gingen elke keer staan voor de beste foto's waardoor de rest niets meer kon zien. De uitleg over de kloosters was in 3 talen en best duidelijk. Op de terugweg veranderde de muziek op de boot ineens in religieuze muziek en stopte de boot. Even later kwam er een speedboot met 4 monniken die aan boord gingen. De hele damesclub haastte zich naar beneden en een handjevol toeristen bleef aan dek. We konden horen dat er beneden een mis gehouden werd het duurde best lang daarna kon iedereen nog kruisjes en andere souvenirs kopen van de monniken. Toen we weer verder gingen bleef de religieuze muziek uit de speakers knallen. Het leek meer een bedevaart dan een gezellige boottocht. We hadden de tocht geboekt die 3 uur zou duren masr het werd 4 5 uur . Het was voor ons een tegenvaller en ik zou het niet nog eens doen, we waren blij dat we van boord konden.
