This might be an amazing thing to see on a good day, but if the clouds and steam block the lava lake it is a complete waste of time. We spent good money to see nothing. What a waste of time. Be warned because the tour website did not mention this potential situation.

It took me months to respond to this bad review. Because for me it is hard to understand how one person can blame a business because Mother Nature's fault. 5 days after your tour, the Masaya Volcano erupted, and the National Park was closed for another 15 days; it is now open again, and the crater looks better. (27-01-26). You were very lucky to have the opportunity to visit such an amazing National Park and to enjoy nature in its purest form, in such an easy way, to just drop off the car, walk a few meters, and see an active crater.
You don't imagine how damaging a bad review can be for a small business. Anyway, we sent our best guide, Abbott, and your husband tipped him and gave him a hug at the end. Thats our "reward".

The concept and the Volcano viewing is very cool. Our driver and tour guide were both excellent. The tour itself was terrible. We were asked to be ready an hour earlier so that we could see the sunset which we gladly accepted. We spent 3 hours in the van and missed the sunset completely. We were also told that we only had 7 minutes to see the crater before we had to leave. Best part: We werent even allowed to walk up to get the best view. This was the absolute biggest rip off. You should just drivs yourself or take a taxi and pay the entrance fee... this tour was pathetic. Again... not our guide or drivers fault.

Hola Jimmy, you probably are traveling to our beautiful country like many other tourists from the north hemisphere that love the sunny days and the hot of the land of lakes and volcanoes (Nicaragua). Unfortunately for you we are in the high season, and the Masaya Volcano was having tremors in the lastest week so the National Park rangers only allowed small groups to drive up to the lookout and for the short time and skips the hike to the top of the dead crater. I can show you the text message of the National Park authorities.
You went to visit one of the few lakes of lava in the world, that you don't even need to hike to look it, or pay crazy fees in Hawaii or Ethiopia, and don't have anything good to say about it??? You didn't saw the magma at least??
We have hundreds of 5 starts reviews about this tour. Thanks for your feedback and for makes looks bad, it saids a lot. Please stop doing that to small business, we working really hard, and people like you killed us. We're not Disneyland, also you can write a bad review directly to the National Park, as you said it wasn't the driver and guide fault. You can also asked for a refund. Not anymore of course.

English so so. Very jaded in that he shares little information and when he did he sounded very bored. 2 hours in a line, 15 mins at the top, a tour guide that added nothing to the experience. Nice guy though, same with the driver, but a bit more enthusiasm for his job would be nice.

Visiting Masaya Volcano was an incredible experience - highly recommend. The tour was informative and interesting. The guide, Abbott, was knowledgeable and kind. The view of the magma in the crater was mine blowing! Don’t miss out on seeing it - a highlight of my trip throughout Central America.

Our tour guide, Amed, was very knowledgeable about everything Nicaragua. He told us many interesting things on the way to the Masaya National Park. We got to see the magma in one of the active craters, as well as a few inactive craters. Overall, a breathtaking experience!

This was a great experience. They picked us up at the hotel, we took a 30 minute drive to the volcano during which the guide gave us a lot of historical and cultural information about the volcano and surrounding area. He was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions. Amazing to peer down into an active volcano and see magma below us. Beautiful night. Definitely recommend.

Allard met us as the door to our hotel. On the way to the park he gave us some history of the area and volcanoes. He helped us purchase some local candy while in the lineup to enter. He and his driver were amazing and would definitely recommend them to anyone. They even dropped us off at a restaurant he knew we would love after the tour.

Our guide Elizeth was super! Very knowledgable and friendly. Very nice evening out with a quick viewing of the little museum before seeing the lava. Would have liked to go a little later in the evening for a better night veiwing of the volcano, but otherwise great little trip.

This tour was a little more than price wise than what our hotel offered but the guide Huscar was extremely informative, and went out of his way to show us so much more than we would have got with just a shuttle ride up to the crater, we were very satisfied with this tour.

Unsere Tour auf den Masaya- Vulkan war super. Unser Guide Abbott hat sich viel Zeit genommen und den Vulkan und Nicaragua selber zu erklären. Wir hatten auch Zeit für uns den Vulkankrater zu bestaunen und da unser Guide gleich mit uns auf den Gipfel gefahren ist, hatten wir die Chance den Krater bei Tageslicht und im Dunkeln zu sehen. Am Ende haben wir eine sehr ausführliche Führung durch das Museum bekommen. Abbott konnte super englisch und wir wurden am Ende an einem guten einheimischen Restaurant abgesetzt. Perfekte Tour.
